Donovan is generally an excellent writer on the subject of gender ideology (I always enjoy hearing him on podcasts) but I think his latest article is particularly insightful:

The quiet bit keeps popping out doesn't it? Good to see this appearing more and more in articles and being openly said.

This quote, from Abigail Favale, in the article is thought-provoking:

The affirmation model cannot offer true self-acceptance, unless the body is no longer considered part of the self. Choosing a lifetime of medicalization in order to maintain an illusion of cross-sex identity is not ‘being who you really are.’ The affirmation model is self-denial masquerading as self-acceptance. Because our bodies are ourselves, what is being “affirmed,” ultimately, is the patient’s self-hatred.

Thanks OP. The more people who realise the devastating effects of this the better, I am appalled that we are living in a society that sterilises some of its most vulnerable children

And then society pressures us to celebrate the mutilating of these vulnerable children…I can’t understand the cognitive dissonance involved.

I agree. I cannot understand how people can condemn eugenicists, Nazi clinical experimentation (guess who first distilled testosterone) and lobotomies yet celebrate 'gender affirming care'. To me these are all horrific.
