Perhaps they should relabel all the Men's loos as Gender Neutral and the Women's loos as TERFS.

Perhaps they should stick to male, female and a third one for mobility issues.

If a male has a problem in the male loos it should be the males that need sorting, not just move them over to a gender neutral or women's loo.

lol that'd do it!

EmpressaurusOfCats · 03/12/2023 15:23

Was it Lily Madigan or India Willoughby who suggested that & thought they were being funny?

Datun · 03/12/2023 16:06

Think it was Willoughby. Suggested we all go off and have own own terf toilets then. And was comically mystified when everyone said ok, deal!

MagpiePi · 03/12/2023 16:15

@Datun
Reminds me of that tweet about tw would be wanting to get into the special place in hell for terfs 5 minutes after we’ve all been sent there 🙄

Ha ha ha love it

GailBlancheViola · 03/12/2023 21:04

Harrop proposed special separate toilets for TERFS with no TW allowed in them and then very quickly walked it back when women said Excellent, that's what we've been asking for.

GailBlancheViola · 03/12/2023 21:05

Proves the point that it is not the facilities that are important it is the women inside that are the requirement.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/12/2023 01:21

YY Gail is right, mostly famously it was Harrop

I thought it was Willoughby. But I'm probably getting mixed up by the other bathroom speech, where Willoughby walked miles and went inconveniently out of their way, to avoid all the gender neutral toilets, in order to violate women's boundaries in the ladies.

MagpiePi · 04/12/2023 09:07

@WhereYouLeftIt
Yes, that’s the one!!

Which really demonstrates that he and his ilk absolutely do not understand our position at all!

We don’t want to use the toilets which validate our womanhood. I have never felt any need to have my womanhood validated it has never been in doubt, my body, my bodily processes, caring responsibilities, 20 years of low pay part time work, expectations that I will remember and do something about everyone’s birthdays etc have never let me forget it.

No we just need privacy, dignity and most importantly safety when we are vulnerable or undressed. I don’t much care what it says on the door so long as it is a space forbidden to penis people.

My mum used to say to me when I was a child feeling uncomfortable about being naked getting changed after swimming “don’t worry about it, we are all girls together, we have all seen it all before, no one’s got anything you haven’t got” those sort of things. If only this was true again.

This makes me feel quite emotional - a mother trying to reassure her daughter. Not many of us like getting our kit off in front of strangers but at least there was always the knowledge that this was our space, away from men and boys.

Yes, I remember that too! And boasted about it.

As did another MTF, again proving beyond doubt that it is not the actual space it is the women in that space that are required, it blows the just want to pee trope out of the water.
