Video in link. They say it is a bit 'prostitutey' but main concern is she's hot...

good people with a lot of love to give. I'm sure the children will be as loved and chrished as any others, and perhaps even more so than some.

The way they have spoken about it all thus far has failed to convince me of the ‘good people’ bit.

MoreCraicPlease · 02/12/2023 14:59

Words actually fail me.

Someone here compared surrogacy to slavery and got slated for it. Then you hear these men admit it’s a bit “prostituty” and think “yeah, slavery..”

TomatoSandwiches · 02/12/2023 15:05

Repulsive pair, can't believe anyone who has listened to them can think they are caring and appropriate people to be parents.

ArthurbellaScott · 02/12/2023 15:43

Fucking creeps.

I hope to got they don't end up bringing up a girl child.

Sadly, they will. The woman they paid to do IVF had boy-girl twins.

ArcaneWireless · 02/12/2023 15:59

One of each @ArthurbellaScott

ArcaneWireless · 02/12/2023 16:01

I hope they make sure she knows that she isn’t merely a series of body parts to be utilised by men.

WhereIsBebèsChambre · 02/12/2023 16:11

Wonder what will happen if the dc aren't instagrammy or when older don't want to be in the media circus? Off to boarding school?

therealcookiemonster · 02/12/2023 16:17

🤢

TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening · 02/12/2023 16:45

Fucking hell, vile, vile humans.

tiggergoesbounce · 02/12/2023 17:27

Why more so because they were specially selected and cost lots of money and give their parents coverage in crappy 'sleb magazines and social media?
Oh yes, so much more...

I read the post you refer to, as just meaning with so many children who suffer intentional neglect, these babies were very much wanted and will be surrounded by love. I dont think the posters meant because of money or means.

I think they are acknowledging they are hiring a woman for her services, akin to prostitution, which lets be honest, wether you agree with surogacy or not, its true.

No, because the fact is that many children are not loved and cherished at all. As countless tragic murders of young children born to natural parents reveal.

Are you their p.r/family/superfan? Lots of insider apparent knowledge!

Why so vitriolic? I happen to like 'Made In Chelsea' it is one of my guilty pleasures, and I've always liked Ollie. His husband Gareth is sweet and lovely. I've been following the development of this story.

I'm not suggesting thats surrogacy is without issues, but like it or not it is increasingly common for people to use donor sperm, and now eggs too.

Vitriolic?why so worshipful? How do you know he is so sweet and lovely? Because you watch how he presents on TV?

I've not come across you before on this board...but the bilious, vindictive unpleasant style is not for me. So I doubt I'll be responding again. Discussion is one thing - but acrimony for its own sake - no, thanks!

WhereIsBebèsChambre · 02/12/2023 20:10

OK, bit dramatic hyperbole but if that's what you need to do, its not exactly interesting debate.

I hope the nanny or teachers or whomever ends up doing the shitwork of raising both children is able to both model a loving, caring relationship, and communicate that women are not body parts to be bought and sold.

NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision · 02/12/2023 20:29

People don't automatically have the capacity or the will to value children's welfare just because they have spent much money to have them.

Surrogacy Concern tweeted the following in July, regarding an unknown set of celebrity commissioning parents.

News has reached us of another celeb couple commissioning babies like they’re pedigree dogs.

This time the babies have been born 11 weeks early. They’re in hospital: the Dads allegedly threatening to sue hospital if they don’t move them.

Human trafficking. In the U.K. In 2023.

Thats horrendous @NeighbourhoodWatchPotholeDivision but am not surprised, need to get the kids out there earning!

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 02/12/2023 21:16

Good, sweet, lovely people don't buy humans. Or refer to the process by which their children came into being as 'prostituty'. Or consider 'smoking hot' to be a priority characteristic of babies.

Ahhh. I remember this. This was reprehensible. What a great way to start being loving parents.

This is a new style of “debate” isn’t it? Commented on another thread earlier about how exaggerated, heightened language is now commonly used to describe perfectly normal interactions and discussion in order to pretend that the other person is deeply unpleasant and flawed rather than just…disagreeing. It’s all so tiresome.

Helleofabore · 02/12/2023 21:40

NotBadConsidering · 02/12/2023 09:05

No, I don’t think they will either. To do so would admit the circumstances of the birth of the children was wrong, which is mentally tough thing to put on your kids. I don’t think anyone who’s bought a baby will be brave enough to say they were wrong to do so. I can’t think of anyone who has done this.

It’s not guaranteed, but it’s more likely a child will feel the trauma of that circumstance as an adult, because that’s happened.

Yes. I agree

It's tiresome, but I feel partly to blame as I did question why they did seem to know such personal detail as to how virtuous Locke et al are..
But yes, I agree, it's a lazy new form of 'debate' quickly throw slurs, soft accusations of 'being mean' to try and shut people up because #unkind..
