Someone here compared surrogacy to slavery and got slated for it. Then you hear these men admit it’s a bit “prostituty” and think “yeah, slavery..”

Repulsive pair, can't believe anyone who has listened to them can think they are caring and appropriate people to be parents.

I assume this thread will go like the last one, in which we were assured the men would be the best parents ever.

I read the post you refer to, as just meaning with so many children who suffer intentional neglect, these babies were very much wanted and will be surrounded by love. I dont think the posters meant because of money or means.

I think they are acknowledging they are hiring a woman for her services, akin to prostitution, which lets be honest, wether you agree with surogacy or not, its true.

No, because the fact is that many children are not loved and cherished at all. As countless tragic murders of young children born to natural parents reveal.

Why so vitriolic? I happen to like 'Made In Chelsea' it is one of my guilty pleasures, and I've always liked Ollie. His husband Gareth is sweet and lovely. I've been following the development of this story.

I'm not suggesting thats surrogacy is without issues, but like it or not it is increasingly common for people to use donor sperm, and now eggs too.

I hope the nanny or teachers or whomever ends up doing the shitwork of raising both children is able to both model a loving, caring relationship, and communicate that women are not body parts to be bought and sold.

People don't automatically have the capacity or the will to value children's welfare just because they have spent much money to have them.

Good, sweet, lovely people don't buy humans. Or refer to the process by which their children came into being as 'prostituty'. Or consider 'smoking hot' to be a priority characteristic of babies.

Commented on another thread earlier about how exaggerated, heightened language is now commonly used to describe perfectly normal interactions and discussion in order to pretend that the other person is deeply unpleasant and flawed rather than just…disagreeing. It's tiresome, but I feel partly to blame as I did question why they did seem to know such personal detail as to how virtuous Locke et al are..
