I was updating my contact details and came across this. 🙄
I suppose I should be grateful it’s not compulsory to fill it in

And it cannot be removed as an option when creating contacts. However, if you create the contact you can ignore it and nothing will show up on that contact unless it is in edit mode where you get the option.

I expect that if you are flicked a contact where someone has used it, it will show unless you remove them.

I question what thought was put into this. Contacts already have an ‘add field’ with limited other options where they could have added this field. Just like there is a field for ‘prefix’ which I assume is ‘honorific / title’. The field could be stashed there. Still. They didn’t and it does feel like virtue signaling to have not done so.

Wonder if it allows "Fuck/You"

It would have to be as there are over one hundred and growing genders. They cannot limit it. So yes…. Feel free Bellini. Let it rip with the fuck/you alternatives.

They will not respond, and may well totally ignore any feedback on this, but there is no harm in filling it out. Marking it as a Feature Request to make this field removable would be my suggestion.
