Women physically (many middle aged and older) attacked by transactivists in Portland.

Multiple women have been injured following an attack by men in Portland after women organized a WDI meeting at a county library. I'm absolutely disgusted that the police didn't arrive to protect these women's First Amendment rights to freedom of speech (though not at all surprised because in many US cities, the police don't care/are understaffed/overworked/dealing with gun violence). https://twitter.com/WDI_USA

I thought I had posted an article from Reduxx but doesn't seem to be here. Or it is and I cant see it! So sorry if this is a duplicate.

Anyhow, re Portland Police policies - this is relevant - and a revalation. Can you imagine a policy like this country wide - or even in the UK????

they were told by officers that the department’s official policy is to “not to get involved” in group conflicts “unless there is an immediate threat to life.”

Unbelievable.

... the women, who had rented accommodations together, had awoken Sunday morning to discover that their tires had been slashed during the night. They also discovered that flyers with photos referring to some of the more well-known women had been posted in public, calling them “anti-trans bigots.”

Women Protesting Gender Ideology Attacked By Trans Activists, Antifa In Portland - Reduxx

A group of women critical of gender ideology were physically assaulted in Portland by masked trans activists associated with Antifa, resulting in several women being taken to the hospital. Leaders and members of the US chapter of Women’s Declaration In...

Arguably there was "an immediate threat to life" so how do they determine that?

Delphinium20 · 20/11/2023 22:25

While we don't have issues with US police being captured by ideology of TRAs, we do have other issues with US police (underfunding, bad attitudes, low morale, fear of weaponry from criminals who are armed often more than officers, higher overall crime rates and sky-high homicide rates) which means they are often in triage modes in many cities in the country.

My one and only criticism of WDI is they should consider holding events in suburbs or areas where the local police have better resources. Portland is not the place, IMO.

And yes, agree w/ earlier posters that Portland used to be this lovely, counter-culture city that was warm-hearted, safer and generally had a high standard of living up through the 90s and early 2000s. Progressive cities USED to be great places to live.

I agree; the women were being physically attacked by a mob of 50-ish disinhibited men - how is that not life-threatening??!!

I don't know whether I'm shocked at the amount of publicity this isn't getting.

This'll be one of those "didn't happen" or "wrong media" memory hole events.

"Well I never heard anything about it..."

I have been watching the reports of this event ripple through. It seems that the police will not be taking further action which is rather outrageous.

However, what I also have noticed is how extreme trans activists have used a poster who has since name changed on this forum's argument over and over since this recent event has happened. The dismissal of violence against women by male people.

I read Fred Sargeant's thread's hidden tweets and it is horrific in the number of people using that argument. It was just cream pies.... they are funny. Cream pies don't hurt anyone. And Montgomerie posted a video of a comedy sketch while forgetting, conveniently, how hard Montgomerie cried when a man threw a drink in Montgomerie's face one night.

I also saw someone yesterday say 'it was orange juice not pepper spray'!

Fuck this really should be shown time and time again to the public. I hope another video compilation is created of the tactics and the violence that is being done by these activists. I think we probably need one every year, this was the year that was in trans protestors if we can fit it in, or every six months. It has been a horrific year with the escalation of violence. And the Portland police doesn't seem to be interested in doing anything to get justice for the women.

Violence against women is fine when Montgomerie doesn't like the women.

BorgQueen · 22/11/2023 12:44

About time the Women in America start arming themselves or get private, armed security.
Even if it’s just a shotgun with rocksalt or a few Women with tasers, The bastards won’t try it again.

Delphinium20 · 22/11/2023 21:17

I live in the US, and arming ourselves is not the answer. Women who own guns have a higher rate of that gun being used against them - men are strong and more likely at close quarters to wrestle a gun away from a woman and use it on her. Guns in the home mean your children have a higher likelihood of using them on themselves or others or against a pet.

Also, depending on the state, if a woman used a gun against a man who threw a pie at her, she'd be the one going to jail. This is more of an issue of the police not defending the First Amendment rights of the women and IWD choosing a city that is known to have a shortage of officers.

Quite.

Woman2023 · 22/11/2023 23:36

So, if I've understood this correctly, Portland is a progressive city where they allow drugs and shoplifting so as to not criminalise people for minor offences. The end result being that it's unsafe because police won't get involved even when there's violence against women.

Sounds nightmarish.

GrinitchSpinach · 24/11/2023 15:32

When they got back to the Airbnb the women recorded the speeches they had intended to give. They're up at WDI USA's YouTube now (though I think the playlist is out of order, because Kara Dansky's video is supposed to be the introduction):
