I have no idea who they are so what exactly is their background? Is it medical or purely in the charity sector?

They spent some time organising protests outside the FILIA conference a few years ago trying to stop women meeting. Some of their protesters turned with sexually abusive signs and slogans aimed at the women (see below).
Maybe they see this role as giving them more opportunities to silence women?

The misogyny of trans activists

To the annual FiLiA conference in Portsmouth. A 1,000-strong gathering of women of all ages and viewpoints, united by a desire and commitment to ending male violence, oppression and domination of women and girls. [...]Read More...

Yes, I can find stuff about him being in anti women protests and how much he enjoyed stealing his sisters clothes, I just can't see their career history and why they were thought the best person for the job

I can't understand the fuss about this.

The CEO of the spinal injuries association is on a board that I am on and does not, to my knowledge, have a spinal injury.

It's quite common for charity CEOs not to have lived experience of whatever cause the charity stands for.

That's such a good question Mingle. Keep asking..... Maybe there'll be an answer..... Maybe ..... ......😂

The suspicion in my terfy WhatsApp group is that Steph is the only person that applied for the job. It’s a tiny charity and the role is most likely unpaid. Which wouldn’t bother Steph of course as Steph is in it for the validation and the self-promotion opportunities.

Longingforthesummer · 13/11/2023 19:16

Ridiculous!!!!!!

Minglemangle007 · 13/11/2023 19:48

There is a suggestion that the charity founder was nominated for an award by them ........so a case of " I'll scratch your back if you'll scratch mine" but I just want to know if they will be a good fund raiser as they obviously can't empathise.

A while ago, the Mothers' Union appoint a man as their head. A actual man (no trans issues)

The MN consensus was that people should respect that the organisation had chosen the best candidate. Lived experience was not necessarily the most important issue.

I think the same principles apply here.

Sorry not sure what is going on with the app, so sorry if I am quoting rather than just commenting. Is this individual associated with the PDA campaigner of a similar name?
