Isn't Shahrar Ali's case due to be decided very soon?

I think they've only recently had the final day of legal submissions, so I guess it will be a couple of months unless very cut and dried either way.

Sorry meant to quote you @ArthurbellaScott

GrumpyPanda · 04/12/2023 09:25

@Lysistra65

just for background info on the so-called Lemkin Institute, they're essentially a false flag operation appropriating the name and prestige of the real Auschwitz Institute for Genocide Prevention and its Raphael Lemkin Program.https://www.auschwitzinstitute.org/programs/global-raphael-lemkin-seminar

The "Lemkin Institute" is apparently run by a lady with a trans daughter and mainly motivated by TRA concerns although it also features the typical Palestine/queer feminist content (but is silent on the holocaust.) For those willing to brave Google translate here's a background thread from German GC Twitter where the issue came up as part of the Vollbrecht case: https://twitter.com/MissMutige/status/1658597776437960705

Wow.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 04/12/2023 09:36

I liked it when the Greens cared about greenbelt and recycling and public transport. This persistent focus on fetishy and misogynistic guff is an odd direction for the party to take.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/12/2023 07:35

Thanks for posting that @IwantToRetire. The article seems to say that the mad LGBTQ group motion written by an MRA mentioned in this thread and others has been withdrawn. What were they playing at?

ArthurbellaScott · 10/12/2023 07:59

'A member of the Green Party LGBTIQA+ group has written a motion to be debated at the group's AGM that would have classed the gender critical movement as inherently hateful but it has since been withdrawn.'

Interesting. So there are some limits to saying it out loud...

C and p from the other thread by @cariadlet:

The recording of the Green Women's Declaration panel event (Emma Bateman, Dawn Furness, Zoe Hatch and Alison Teal talking about their mistreatment by the Green Party) is now up on YouTube and there's a link on the Declaration website.

Well, my Dh just queried why the hell I would be in the greens when they've banned gpw (he didn't really understand what they've banned - I had to explain that I was part of that group.)

So the bbc article is clearly gaining traction.

As I pointed out, I'm not taking such bs lying down, and neither are any other women.

The ratio on that! Blimey. I especially like the observation from Simon Edge that Melissa was not only Matthew until very recently, but also a Conservative Party member and candidate, which is all on the public record. Surely the BBC ought to be reporting that?

WarriorN · 10/12/2023 11:36

Sometimes I wonder if 'bbc balance' allows the visuals to do the heavy lifting that they can't do....

I've seen one tweet saying that his new surname "Poulton" is his ex-wife's maiden name.

If true, that's a new brand of creepy beyond the usual first name/clothes "coincidences".

WarriorN · 10/12/2023 13:29

League of gentlemen is one of the things trending on Twitter today...

Also Green Party, for both the bbc and this candidate.

Nah - they were weird when they were called the ecology party - alternative lifestyles and not a thing to do with ecology.

Still, there may be some stage between then and now where they may have been.

I do wonder if there is something in their past that explains this strange adherence to gender ideology above environmental issues though.

It's just entryism.

Genderism activists saw a soft target, as a PP noted

"I liked it when the Greens cared about greenbelt and recycling and public transport."

That's what they're doing, and by cutting ties with a group whose main focus is being gender critical this will help the Green Party focus more on environmental matters.

DrivingonIce · 10/12/2023 14:50

Really? Alienating women is necessary in allowing them to concentrate on climate and pollution?

Let's see.

They aren't alienating anyone other than people who want to divert all the attention onto trans people.

The main focus should be on the environment, hence the name Green.

Like TRAs do?
