It's Sophie Grace Chappel:

What a disappointment.
You may as well ask drug users to write legal recommendations on drug usage.

It's like they thought "hmm, who would be the least suitable person help revise our code of ethics?"

RethinkingLife · 08/11/2023 09:14

The misogyny is strong with this one.

Why are the women in this profession OK with this?

“It wouldn’t matter if there was a slight spike…”

Don’t let women and their pesky desire to stay alive and unraped get in the way of an adult human male’s wish to put little-girl bows in his wig and skip into the ladies’ loos. FFS.

I see Sophie Grace Chapel has a book out in April, Trans Figured: On Being a Transgender Person in a Cisgender World, and is due to speak at this summer's Greenbelt festival (drag singer Flamy Grant also appearing – Greenbelt has now fully transitioned from Christian arts festival to agitprop for gender/queer ideology).

Very helpful to see the Reduxx article on SGC. If anybody has any other info or links, I'd be interested.

A trans-identified male academic who was previously criticized for stating that it “would not matter” if women were killed as a result of gender identity policies has been appointed to devise ethical guidelines for therapists. Sophie Grace Chappell, a Philosophy professor at the Open University...

I thought it was supposed be a place of learning? I mean, have they not heard of Jo Phoenix, for example? Why on Earth have they let this extremist activist be in charge of what they laughing call ethics? It's fox in the henhouse stuff.

Mermoose · 26/03/2024 12:17

I've had interactions with SGC on Twitter. SGC repeatedly behaved in ways I'd describe as manipulative and gaslighting. For example, acting as though it was a bizarre and original idea that males present a risk of sexual violence to women. SGC heavily leaned on the fact that at the time Twitter was banning people for stating facts about biology, continually asking how male violence was relevant to SGC's presence in women's spaces, knowing I couldn't reply honestly and clearly. I don't see how SGC is suitable for any role in mental health, let alone this one.

BACP reviewing (or 'decolonising', as I believe they're now framing it)their ethical framework has nothing to do with making sure therapists are practicing ethically, and everything to do with trying to force therapists to swaer allegiance to a SJW agenda. BACP have no interest whatsoever in their members views or concerns, only in pushing queer theory and critical race theory. The inclusion of Chappell, who is neither a therapist nor an ethics expert, is completely par for the course - they've already decided what the outcome of the 'review' will be, and it's nothing to do with most therapist's concerns.

Ot IS the DM though.
Any other reputable sources?

When the Guardian or BBC start publishing truth about this stuff, I'm sure many posters will happily post links to that instead.

Has Chappell denied saying what he is quoted as having said in the article?

That's a link to Reddux - a feminist news source. Not the Daily Mail?

BACP desperately need a court case.

Flouncy skirt doesn't make a woman. Chappel fathered 4 daughters, would love to know what they really think.
