I think there's a lot to that. There are men on this board who manage to blend in enough that they're not obviously clockable as not being women

True. Most of the regular men, including those on this thread, don't display the sort of sexism that our fly-by-night visitors do.

Datun · 10/11/2023 12:31

I wonder if our 'visitors' realise exactly how many men they are speaking to and engaging with? 😄

AlphaTransWoman · 10/11/2023 12:32

@Datun
I don't really get on with men. Women have always been nicer to me.

@NecessaryScene

Maybe this comes back to the "extreme male brain" theory associated with neurodiversity, and the overlap that has with being trans?

Are you now claiming to have an extreme male brain rather than a ladybrain?

Strap in, sugar tits. We are bored of being “nice”. Nice doesn’t get you rights, it gets you trodden on.

Quel surprise. We’re socialised that way. Also worth bearing in mind that fawning is something women and girls often do to men when they are feeling uncomfortable or scared. Fight/Flight/Freeze/Fawn

MavisMcMinty · 10/11/2023 12:42

Do I see desperate scrabbling around to find reasons/excuses other than the acronym that dare not be named? Be out and be proud, stop kidding yourself, it’s fine. Just keep it outside of our spaces, that’s all we ask. I don’t bother people with my sexual fantasies and have no interest in other people’s. I particularly shudder at the thought of being an unwitting and unwilling participant in someone else’s fantasy, it’s intrusive, rude, and extremely male behaviour.

ArthurbellaScott · 10/11/2023 12:42

Yes, women recognise red flags and out of necessity have learned strategies to avoid harm and inflaming a potentially dangerous situation.

On an anonymous internet board where there is no risk of physical intimidation, we can speak more freely.

I'm a man and so's my wife.

MavisMcMinty · 10/11/2023 12:51

I was a man, but then changed my mind and became a woman.

In a psychological sense?

Psychiatric sense, Tinsel.

Dogs are generally nice to me, it doesn't mean I am one.

Natural history of social and sexual behavior in fruit flies - a field study conducted in 2020

By far the most prevalent activity on fruits was males’ incessant pursuit of females (Fig. 3c), which almost always rebuffed them (Supplementary Video S1 4:00). On average, a female was pursued by a male once every 2 min. Often it was the same male approaching the female over and over in spite of the female’s obvious rejection signals. Females most frequently seemed to ignore pursuing males though it is possible that I did not perceive subtle or invisible responses. The most efficient way that females could avoid males was flying away. This had the obvious cost of leaving an attractive feeding and egg laying site. While females could land on another fruit, it is not clear whether it could improve their ability to evade males. Hiding away from fruit most likely consisted a secure setting for females and probably explained the lower number of females than of males at fruits

Natural history of social and sexual behavior in fruit flies - Scientific Reports

The past 2 decades have seen fruit flies being widely adopted for research on social behavior and aggression. This fruitful research, however, has not been well tied to fruit flies’ natural history. To address this knowledge gap, I conducted a fie...

Lol, you have no idea how many men you've been speaking to on this thread alone.

Very useful for them all to see.

Ah, but look at my girly name, and I’m a big fat smelly bloke.

AlphaTransWoman · 10/11/2023 13:08

Hmm. Men do tend to be a lot more judgmental than women. Especially towards those they perceive as other men. So I had wondered.

IcakethereforeIam · 10/11/2023 13:12

I'm a cake! ⬆️

Hanlonsamazer · 10/11/2023 13:13

This is like watching a drunken old man in the pub have an imaginary conversation with himself.

Tell us @AlphaTransWoman are these men in the room with us now?

Helleofabore · 10/11/2023 13:14

Well, since we are fessing up. Sitting here in men's trackies and with a borish username like I have - I too must be a man! And I don't profess to be fucking nice to anyone. Oh... and I fucking swear a lot which has been commented on so many fucking times that it is fucking ridiculous at this point.

ArthurbellaScott · 10/11/2023 13:16

Yes, Alpha. At last you've twigged. All the users on FWR on Mumsnet are all in fact men. Just horrible, boring old men, clearly of no interest to you whatsoever.
