The below is from Sex Matters' weekly memo and looks to be very useful.

'We’ve published a new resource – Data matters: practical guidance on collecting personal data about sex and transgender identity. This simple guide is intended to provide clear, workable advice, in line with current laws, to anyone who needs to collect data on sex in the public, private or voluntary sector in the UK. This is one of the things we get the most questions about in our inbox every week.

Alongside that publication is a template letter for anyone who wants to complain about data collection.'

I think I can get some use out of that.

It'll be one of those slow burners that get more useful as time progresses.

Our webinar next week will introduce the new document and discuss the issues with experts Michael Biggs and Lucinda Platt – the places are filling up fast but it’s not too late to reserve yours.

Their last email highlighted "Data collection is relevant for policy makers, heads of Human Resources, IT departments and policy nerds – so please share details of the webinar with anyone you think might be interested." So I forwarded it on to my work Diversity&Inclusion and also HR team, who currently believe that collecting data on gender alone is perfectly fine and refused x4 to consider also collecting sex disaggregated data alongside gender. Am hoping at least one of them has registered and may see sense moving forwards.
