A friend has been a member of the SWP for many years. Works in further education
He believes himself to be very moral. We have clashed badly over recent years over his TWAW stance. Ended badly with him calling me a bigot and me calling him a misogynist
We still come across each other due to mutual friends
I've been trying to find background on the SWP but, so far, apart from snippets it's all just their own literature which still reads as though they are fighting for the working class
I know there was a big split after rape/sexual assault accusations. According to twitter/X the leaders are very wealthy
Does anyone have information or can point me in the right direction please
This is just me being interested not for arguing. He has invested too much money and time to ever recognise any wrong within the party

Thanks for that link. I used to be dyed in the wool SNP but the Gender bollocks on top of all the other Nanny State has done it for me. I looked at the SWP but they have blanketed the place with "Trans Rights" poster, if I had more guts, I'd take a sharpie and cover TRA with ME, but I don't.

I do a lot of surveys and now answer "communist" in the "other" box when given a choice over which party I support.

@ArabellaScott i can confirm that is them. The printing business was sold of quite a long time ago. Accounts reflect they are in real trouble. As an ex member and a Marxist analyst , but one who does not want to bore, they have got analysis completely wrong deeply and in so many ways. In a nutshell (pun intended) Lenin wrote a book called left wing communism an infantile disorder, think that i can safely apply this to the SWP in its current form, and at that point i left. I am free from now, and have and always will support feminist perspectives and women who challenge with bravery and power, the wrongs of the world we live in. I say this to you as i cannot respond to each and every post that i don't agree with.

When i and other women i know were in the SWP it was not a sexist and cultish environment, it was an important part of my political education, and had much to contribute to gay rights and support of the miners strike, and defeating the rise of racism.

@Melroses No the communist party of GB existed way before the SWP. And they the communist party were out in the cold due to their views on the USSR.
