I didn't think they were a women's homelessness charity.
So I read the article, via archive.ph and see that they aren't but ....
For the first time this winter, Glass Door will provide a women-only shelter in recognition of the “growing numbers of homeless women” in London, it said.
The charity held its annual Sleep Out fundraiser in Duke of York Square in Chelsea on Friday and it hoped to raise £175,000 to finance its winter shelters.
But it has now emerged the shelter would be open to transgender women.
Not acceptable, but hardly surprising that a generic homelessness group would think this.
Why dont they give some of the money raised to existing women's projects who have experience and expertise in this.
I bet they thought this will increase their fundraising, ie focusing on women who are more vulnerable on the street, but failed to mention they will then place them in a vulnerable environment by accepting "self identity".
Its a shame the Telegraph has just got a few "names" to make quotable quotes, and didn't bother to speak to those actually doing the work, and why they have women only organisations.
