From the CPS:

'A man who sexually assaulted seven women on the streets late at night has been sentenced to a period of 20 months imprisonment suspended for two years.
Ali Ay, 42, targeted women walking alone on the streets of north London in Kentish Town, Islington and Archway on seven separate occasions over a two-year period.
Between April 2019 and October 2021, he approached the victims whilst dressed in women’s clothing, including tutus, fishnets and tights before exposing prosthetic male genitals and sexually assaulting a number of his targets.
Ay showed some of the victims images of male genitalia as he attempted to engage them in conversation.
CCTV was used to identify the vehicle used by Ay which was traced back to his home address.
Ay was arrested at his home address in October 2021, where police uncovered a number of female items of clothing and sex toys that were present during his attacks.
Ay attended Snaresbrook Crown Court on 8 September 2023 where he was sentenced to 20 months imprisonment suspended for two years and made subject to a Sexual Harm Protection Order for eight years.
Melissa Garner, from the CPS, said: “Ali Ay accosted his victims whilst they walked alone late at night in north London.
“He wore women’s clothing to lure his victims and make them initially feel at ease in his company. He told them that he was gay and that they should not be frightened. He then took the opportunity to sexually assault a number of them.
“The prosecution case included CCTV footage and strong witness testimony. We were also able to present a number of the items used by Ay in the attacks including tights and tutus.
“Women should feel safe to walk the streets without fear of attack. The CPS remain committed to prosecuting sexual offenders.”'

The only media report I could find on this makes no mention of his use of women's clothing.

'A man has been charged following a series of sexual assaults on women in Camden and Islington spanning more than two years.
Ali Ay, 40, from Muswell Hill, was charged with 10 counts of indecent exposure and nine counts of sexual assault on Thursday, March 31.
It follows an investigation by the police into reports that 11 women were sexually assaulted by a man who exposed himself in public spaces between April 2019 and September 2021.'

There’s no suggestion he is actually identifying as a trans woman so bit of a red herring in the trans argument.

Chersfrozenface · 06/10/2023 12:04

Well, the MSM wouldn't mention the clothing

That would be "kink shaming" and as we know, that's not allowed

Who said anything about 'trans'?

Suspended sentence. Ffs. Sexual predator

It isn't a red herring. It is a perfect illustration of us saying that some men will use the current thinking about transcwomen being allowed in women's spaces to commit crimes.

I'm a bit confused where the 'prosthetic male genitals' fits into the story.

Somewhere in the region of his groin?

The prosthetic genitals puzzled me too. Is this person female but IDs as a man? Unlikely, given the nature of the offence.

Neither link included a mugshot so I’m none the wiser, except that it’s overwhelmingly those observed as male at birth who commit crimes like this.

Pathetic sentence, as we’ve unfortunately come to expect. I wonder if his trans status (he would come under the umbrella in all other circumstances) had a part to play in that.

A new article.

He's definitely male. I don't know why he had a prosthetic penis, either.

'A man who dressed in women’s clothing and exposed prosthetic male genitals sexually assaulted seven women in terrifying late-night attacks.
Ali Ulas Ay, of Alexandra Park Road, Muswell Hill, targeted women walking alone on the streets of Kentish Town, Islington and Archway on separate occasions between April 2019 and October 21.
The 42-year-old approached victims dressed in women’s clothing such as tutus, fishnets and tights.'

I seem to recall a furore when one of the Robert Galbraith books included mention of a male serial killer who dressed in a woman's coat so that he could superficially pass as female on a crowded street at night and thereby get close to a potential female victim. I think the outrage was because people who cross-dress are by their very nature saintly and would never turn out to be violent manipulative predators. Well, well. It seems it's just possible that might be wrong.

Sarah2891 · 06/10/2023 12:34

A male exposing prosthetic genitals is a new one to me. Very bizarre.

PurpleChrayne · 06/10/2023 12:35

Why would he need prosthetic genitals?

Boiledbeetle · 06/10/2023 12:36

That sentence is appalling.

cuckyplunt · 06/10/2023 12:04

There’s no suggestion he is actually identifying as a trans woman so bit of a red herring in the trans argument.

It doenst matter what he 'identifies' as. He used women's clothing to lure women into a false sense of security to assault them.

This is EXACTLY why we don't want men in dresses in women's toilets. There is absolutely no way to tell the difference between a harmless man who genuinely thinks he is a woman and has absolutely no interest in harming women (physically /sexually anyway as many women find transwomen in toilets distressing whatever their intentions ) and a predator wearing a dress to access women in vulnerable positions.

So we need to keep ALL BIO MALES out of women's spaces.

PurpleChrayne · 06/10/2023 12:35

Why would he need prosthetic genitals?

Based on some knowledge of the vagaries of men, I would guess that the prosthetic genitals were unfeasibly large

Bwessed · 06/10/2023 12:38

PurpleChrayne · 06/10/2023 12:35

Why would he need prosthetic genitals?

Shock factor.

I once had a man just randomly show my a butt plug on a bus with a huge grin on his face. I was 14.

Illegallyblonder · 06/10/2023 12:40

WTF was the sentence suspended? The law doesn't give a shit about women.

But wait, this NEVER HAPPENS does it? So it must be some mistake.

Chersfrozenface · 06/10/2023 12:41

Oh, and given the description of the "women's clothing" in question - tutus, fishnets and tights - we can safely assume that wearing those particular garments and not, say, a twinset and pearls, were rather more part of his kink and less about making his victims feel unthreatened.

IcakethereforeIam · 06/10/2023 12:42

I had a man I'd just met tell me all about his client's sex crime. His eyes never left my face. Fortunately, I had a very good line in deadpan expressions.

Suspended sentence. Ffs. Sexual predator

Yep, he promises not to be a real and present danger to women. Seems fair to me, that's bound to hold. Not.

We've really lost it. Not us. Civic society. Do we really think if Starmer was in charge right now, his sentence would be any different?

Whether it's shoplifting, openly carrying machetes, rape, and sex crimes like this, the lack of harsh sentencing and clear messages to society, is beyond shocking.

Just one more to add to the Norwich county councillor and that ex Fleet Street editor, a stack of sex crimes between them all a mountain high, not one custodial sentence. This one just fits that trend.
