Do you know what “2S” and “[Q]” mean in 2SLGBTQ[Q]IA+ ?
and isn’t an “n” missing? (for nonbinary)?

I'm just wondering where Barney McGrew is.

Two spirit, it's something native American's have. They can have spirits from beings of different sexes.

Except it was made up by a white anthropologist. In the original sense it actually just meant gay/effeminate men.

I thought the 2S meant 2 souls. A bit like Ben10 maybe.

But I see now that I was mistaken. Imagine though, Ben10 in real life.

I’m humming the song now.

Two spirit is a hugely interesting concept. Particularly when you look into who had it (the nations who treated women worst, denying them even their share of food if there was a shortage) and who didn't (the most equal societies; and ones like the Apache that superficially were very strongly divided by sex but brought up children in a much more egalitarian way because women had to be able to do all the jobs while the men were off on war parties).

Fascinating stuff, but really doesn't back up trans theory in the ways claimed for it. Quite the opposite. Same for most of the 'but traditional cultures have extra genders' arguments.

The [Q] I suspect is 'questioning'. It was common without the brackets about 10 years ago as QQ for 'queer and questioning', but I've not seen it for ages.
