Hello!
I know this may not be the right place for this, but I feel like someone on this board might be able to help.
I've just come across a primary school policy that states they will take into account the students' "gender identity"- and wondered if this should be of concern- and if so, what would one say about it? I feel like this should be changed to sex, but what reason should I give for it?
Thanks!

You’d need to ask them what they mean by “take into account” in order to be able to decide if it’s a concern or not.

Ask them what practical steps they take.

Do they take into account a male child’s feminine gender identity by giving him access to the female changing rooms, thus taking away from the girls their right to privacy and dignity when in a state of undress? Or do they encourage the other boys to accept and support him by ensuring he continues to be safe and welcome in the boys changing room and isn’t harassed by them because of his feminine gender identity?

Absolutely, this is just what I needed! If anyone else has any other guidance, or experience please share.

The EHRC have just issued their updated schools guidance today

Yes this.

Also ask them how they will avoid being sexist with this policy.

What is the context in which they say they will take it into account?
