That Braun Advert

Using a transgender model with visible mastectomy scars to advertise razors.

FGS.

BTW, the same parent company who donated over £10k to Mermaids, are Stonewall diversity champions and who now let staff choose whichever toilets they want to use, thus removing female only toilets.

(I have a deeply bothered female relation who used to work there. She was too scared for her job to speak up, so she left).

Perhaps if we all stopped buying their Ariel, Pampers, Pantene, Tampax and Olay they might bloody well realise that it's WOMEN who buy their stuff.

What's the parent company called?

WookeyHole · 20/09/2023 23:23

Proctor and Gamble

And this is why I no longer buy anything made by P&G. And the more people that boycott their products they may actually realise how offensive their advertising is.

As soon as they used that Dylan trans woman to advertise and endorse their tampons I thought "nope".....bloody virtue signalling

VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia · 20/09/2023 23:28

Transwomen can't menstruate. Why?

viques · 20/09/2023 23:31

I think they have shot themselves in the foot big time, and not once but twice.

Commercially there probably isn’t a big enough cohort of transmen who will identify with the product and buy it, and I don’t think many men will think “hmm, yes, that’s the razor for me, if it’s good enough for a transman then yup, it will deal with my manly bristles.”

Transwomen can't menstruate. Why?

Because they're biologically male.

HagoftheNorth · 21/09/2023 09:51

Agree viques, can’t see many men finding this that appealing

Another P&G boycott here because the minimum standard I require in advertising is that the model could conceivably use the product as intended (so not Dylan then)

I meant "why are they advertising tampons when they can't menstruate?"

Inamuddle36 · 21/09/2023 09:51

@VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia is your question serious?

Mochudubh · 21/09/2023 09:59

It's clear what you meant to me @VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia.

VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia · 21/09/2023 10:08

That misread is understandable and quite funny.

Men were offended when Dylan promoted Bud Light, so men aren't going to be rushing out buying a new razor because a woman with a beard induced by artificial testosterone is advertising it.

dextersontopofhiskennel · 21/09/2023 10:29

That Dylan is like sand on a beach holiday - gets everywhere, rubs you up the wrong way and is bloody irritating.
