Interesting thread, although I had to skip the more revolting bits.
Re pronouns and this comment:
Professionally I am also in the position where I could not use correct sex pronouns without risk of censure
I used to think that, but lately I thought " nah, fuck it". I have been in conversations with colleagues a few times where either they have slipped up and used correct sex pronouns or I have. I have shrugged and said, well, this person is not here so can't be offended. It's impossible for me to say something that is blatantly not true.
I don't know if behind the scenes HR are coming for me, but tbh the reaction has been one of giggling and a bit of relief so far.
The more people who just stop allowing themselves to be coerced into lying the better.
And I also don't care if I offend by stating a neutral fact. It doesn't mean my moral compass is broken it just means that on balance I weigh up the cost to me and my sex and I choose that over someone else's desires.
And few people have cared too much about the purposely offensive things said directly to me in my life ( slag, big tits, fat arse, cunt etc) so what I say out of the hearing of the gender police is small beer as far as I'm concerned.
