Visit to the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow today. The gallery’s great, and the building and its gardens are a lovely place to take a family.

But main display in the bookshop is books of gender theory for small children: My Shadow is Pink, Julian is a Mermaid, etc.

It’s because the temporary exhibition is by a queer fashion designer. But frankly, WTF?

These are not books about self-acceptance and gender nonconformity, they are the opposite. Propaganda for a batshit notion dreamed up yesterday that my body is somehow not the real me.

I filled in the feedback form and let them know what I thought.

Julian is a mermaid is not appropriate imo. It shows a male child loving the look of females dressed as mermaids. Which Im itself is completely fine. But it says IS a mermaid and clearly implies' girl'. It then concludes with his abuela (grandmother) taking him to the mermaid parade. Some rather sexy looking mermaids in the picture. Looks very like a metaphor for pride. The whole book is a metaphor in my opinion. And pride is NOT FOR KIDS. If it's about sexuality rather than gender due to the pride esque parade then it's reinforced homosexual people look different and camp type stereotypes.

It's not explicitly teaching trans ideology but it clearly fucking is

Where's the books of girls wearing/doing boys things? It's all about boys, pink and glitter
