I'm looking for a book about the birds and the bees for my 9 yr old DD. She has a fairly basic one, but I think she probably needs one that goes into a bit more detail about things like periods etc. I just want a book that sticks to the facts, not one that tries to be woke! thanks.

Try Milli Hill 'My Period' meant to be very good and definitely factual and 'un-woke'

Seconding Milli Hill. I haven't read "My Period" (I have read her books about childbirth) but can guarantee there will be no nonsense in it.

Thanks, I ll have a look at it.

Does it go further than periods? Obviously periods are extremely important for young girls but is it very specific (asking as also a mum of an 8 year old DD who, if she hears about genderwang, won't be introduced to it by me).

I haven't read the book so don't know exactly what it covers but the author is a prominent gender critical feminist and fervently pro clear sex based language and biological reality, and anti genderwang.

Yeah, I've heard of her, I certainly would be interested in any book by her for this purpose, just wondering about the scope, really, if anyone happens to know.

The Usborne 'What's happening to me?' book is refreshingly free of nonsense. For anyone looking for a book for younger kids 'Let's Talk About the Birds and the Bees' by Molly Potter is pretty good as well.
