I've not read it so perhaps I'm being unfair, but from the reviews it seems they shoehorn in a dash of genderwoo which has totally put me off.

I bought it and started to read and got put off by the bs in the intro which implied more to come.

i didn't like the bit describing Emily Wilding Davison as "they" at the beginning - people would've known she was a "She" from a mile away. i will keep reading for now.
