Hard-hitting video. Indeed, this violent rhetoric and behaviour is nothing to be proud of. Though I think the ‘will you defend us?’ towards the end is a bit too pleading - I think I would have preferred ‘why the f* are you ok with this?’ …

I get the feeling there's probably an earlier edit of this that had why the fuck are you OK with this? at the end. I'm guessing though they've gone for the more diplomatic approach in the hope of actually getting them to watch it!

Look, Sadiq came up with the Maate thing. He can’t have ALL the MVAWG strategies.

Yes, I did just laugh at the idea of him trying to implement said “technique” with a load of Black Pampers 😂

I've also posted it on the Petitions and Activism board.

But maate doesn't apply cos they're not men after all so it doesn't apply to the special ones. They're going to have to face up to what they are allowing to go on.

Excellent video, it's hard to miss the pattern and the spittle flecked raging nutjobbery.

I also do not like the 'defend us'. I don't want defending. I want equality under the law.

Not a bunch of mumbling, politically captured blokes and their handmaidens who think it's fair enough really that men give women a slap sometimes when they dare to say no to being used as walking resources/sex aids.

The video's great, up until the final moments. I don't want that bunch of spineless men to "defend us". I want them to ensure the law is properly applied, and the travesty of a court acquitting a dangerous criminal on the basis that he was just joking put right asap.

Honestly? Too many people in power have been bending over backwards to defend things like:

• hiding criminals' pasts
• calling those who tell the truth, bigots
• muddling language (sex/gender, safe spaces/single sex spaces), such that they're doing the work of the TRAs

That it's high time they DID defend women standing up against it all. I'm fine with the wording. Many of us have been putting our jobs on the line. We should be defended. Our rights should be actively defended. Safeguarding and free speech should be defended.
