From the draft guidance: “It is widely accepted in Scottish culture that individuals should be treated equally but in order to keep children and young people equally safe, it is important to recognise this does not always mean treating them the same. Some attitudes and behaviours children and young people experience put them at greater risk of abusive relationships, sexual harassment and violence than other children. These inequalities may arise from, but are not limited to, a child’s gender, gender identity, disability, ethnicity, faith or sexual orientation. “ (my emphasis)
