Alice has really let it all out in RollingStone.

Full JKR.

Of course RS has put in all sort of passive aggressive play downs "debunking the bathroom debacle" and making out he's not got it quite right and is a bit "confused."

AC has described how he can see that self ID means unfettered access to women. Men saying they're women. Which RS has down played.

AC is a great example of how literally all of us are 'non binary' but all of us have a biological sex. Sex is real.

With Ne-Yo his publicist put out an apology, he then contradicted it

https://x.com/dc_draino/status/1688656162672058368?s=46&t=SPorwN-mokktL467rcZ57g

"Singer Ne-Yo puts out public statement to his 4M Instagram followers that he stands by his original statement:

Little kids should not get genital mutilation surgeries

His publicist put out a statement saying he apologized to the pronoun mafia and would “educate himself”, but Ne-Yo just put out his own video saying what he truly believes

As a father of 7, he believes genital mutilation of children is a “detrimental decision” that no kid can make and he doesn’t care if he gets cancelled

Big respect for this guy!"

ColinTheGenderMinotaur · 25/08/2023 10:09

Just posting this to correct the record (I don’t want to contribute to misinformation on the internet!) looks like US arena gigs aren’t as bad as UK price wise. I went to a tour listings site and clicked through on the Nashville date with Rob Zombie (because who wouldn’t want to see AC with RZ in Nashville?). Tickets range from 40 to 90 dollars with booking fee included.

Interesting that Ne Yo cannot get that PR Isis hostage type statement retracted, he has to go on FB to counter it.

Will have to be the same with Carlos Santana and the PR guff posted by his record company on his "behalf".

Somehow, I don't think we'll be seeing it.

NotTerfNorCis · 24/08/2023 07:56

He sounds eminently sensible.

He's very well respected for being a thoroughly decent, down to earth rock star.

His segment in the Wayne's World film is epic.

ArabeIIaScott · 25/08/2023 14:01

He's not 'thoroughly decent' if he raped a 13 year old.

Codlingmoths · 25/08/2023 14:23

10 minutes googling on my phone hasnt turned up even a hint that Alice cooper slept with minors? I now know he’s been a teetotaller for a long time, married close to 40 years, but I don’t see anything about sex with underage girls.

Ditto.

I googled "Alice Cooper groupie" and had articles like this on the first page. Took seconds.

I didn't know about this either but it does appear to be true. I am very disappointed. I always liked him

BaronMunchausen · 25/08/2023 16:16

The "debunking" that RS link to highlights a transgender man, Chase Strangio, basically telling women and girls that men can be trusted.

It also seems oblivious to the fact that voyeurism and indecent exposure are hardly ever prosecuted; and that the "nondiscrimination" laws in question effectively decriminalise both those offences.

It throws in for good measure the old "it's going to happen anyway" meme.

From what I could find, it seems Sable Starr had some kind of 'encounter' with Cooper in 1974, when she was aged 19.

He would have been about 26.

He also appears to have had a sexual relationship with another girl, Queenie, same year, who would have been 17 at the time.

I can't find solid corroboration of either of these stories.

IwantToRetire · 25/08/2023 16:35

I am not saying this to in any way excuse Alice Cooper, but at that time (remember Polanski) far too many young girls, and I mean girls, were encourage to think that any sort of attention from famous men was an achievement. And suspect many of them were raped as they would not have had the concept of what these men wanted from them. Look at the Rolling Stone that married someone he had been "dating" since she was 13. That would be called grooming nowadays

So again, not an excuse, but doubt many men would have thought there was an issue. And am only saying this as a reminder of just how much campaigning and raising awareness 70s feminists had to do at that time to even get the issue discussed.

I doubt if every male rock or film star had to be truthful would be able to say they hadn't had sex with an underage girl.

Not forgetting fashion photographers, and ...

Having the same view isn’t ‘aligning’.

such a childish attitude.

I haven't actually. I'm not into that music. My op was more about the way the magazine dismissed all the statements he made, which are all very obvious.

No idea why anyone wants to align with people who advocate for child sterilisation and the rights of males to change next to young girls.

Very interesting. Carlos Santana makes a GC announcement at a concert of his. Cue gnashing of teeth from Rolling Stone etc. His record company PR posts the fake apology/retraction.

And now it's come to light that Santana has deleted that faux statement.

He's sticking to his guns.

Only Women Bleed - Alice has always been switched on. What a pompous piece by RS

I've always thought this song was an exceptionally astute observation.
Saw AC live a few years back. Really pleased he's on our side.

RealityFan · 25/08/2023 22:17

What price more golden Boomers say something?

Mick Jagger, anyone?
Paul McCartney?
Bruce Springsteen?
Sting?
Roger Daltrey?
Van Morrison?
Robert Plant?
Ozzy Osbourne?
James Hetfield?

IcakethereforeIam · 25/08/2023 22:22

Isn't Sting genderwoo, cancelled an interview with Hadley Freeman because of her GC views.

RealityFan · 25/08/2023 22:26

Amazing really. Sting, a man who touted his fearless philosophical rockstar demeanour in the 70s and 80s with his musings on Jung, and he's a captured individual in 2023.

Maybe it was all those 12 hour long tantric sex sessions that turned his mind to mush.

Alice has been dropped from a cosmetics brand that only announced a deal a fortnight ago.

The brand’s announcement of the dropping of Alice went so badly on Twitter they have deleted their entire account.

Bonus, ex Mumford & Son’s chap, Winston (glad Carlos Santana has revoked the PR apology. Bet whoever wrote it is having a shit day at the office):
