LGBT charities can intervene in gender reform court case

In the Times today. Stonewall, Gendered Intelligence and Institute for Constitutional and Democratic Research (never heard of them) have been granted permission to submit written evidence.

"In a petition against Westminster blocking the bill, Scottish ministers used the legal test of rationality, evaluating whether the decision to veto by Jack, secretary of state for Scotland, was “so outrageous in its defiance of logic or of accepted moral standards that no sensible person who had applied his mind to the question to be decided could have arrived at it”."
Because claiming men can ever become women is completely rational and sane.

Alister Jack did not act “irrationally” by blocking Holyrood’s Gender Recognition Reform Bill, the UK government will tell Scotland’s highest civil court.Legal

Where are the child safeguarding groups invited to intervene? (probably dining out at their Stonewall champions freebie night). And presumably the women's groups are too exhausted fighting this left right and centre?
So nobody (apart from the government) standing up for the rights of 16 year olds to be protected from making irreversible decisions that they're in the wrong body & need a lifetime of drugs and surgery to fix it?

Hi @Igneococcus and @MrsOvertonsWindow

Thanks for the share token. Just to say that there’s another thread on this topic which is already at two pages. So you might want to join the discussion on that thread? I couldn’t figure out how to do a link, sorry.

Thanks @LoobiJee I saw it after I made this thread.

“The bill passed in December, with 86 MSPs voting for and 39 against at the final stage. More than 85 per cent of SNP ministers voted for the act, compared with under 10 per cent of Conservatives, 90 per cent of Labour ministers, and all Liberal Democrats and Scottish Greens.”

Rather an odd mistake for The Times to make in that article . Labour isn’t in power in Scotland and doesn’t have any ministers there. They mean Labour MSPs. I wonder if they’ll amend it.

Plenty of 'women's groups' ready to say whatever the Scotgov tells them to say, unfortunately.

When they ask the unofficial grass roots unfunded women's groups, they may get very different responses ...
