…maybe not nit combs specifically (but it would be funny if they read that out), I think it is discussing the application of modern thinking and attitudes to history.

Didn't hear the show, but it's very annoying to find opinions and irrelevant comments shoehorned into museum labels.

I went to a museum recently which had a portrait of an 18th century duchess. The description noted that there were no pictures of black people in the room becaues of slavery, racism, etc. ... try as I might I could find no relevance to this duchess, not even a mention that she had profited from slavery. But they wanted to squeeze this comment in somewhere.
