A male powerlifter who identifies as a “woman” set a women’s national record at a championship in Brandon, Manitoba, yesterday. Anne Andres, 40, currently holds multiple records in the female division, including women’s deadlift and bench press, and has placed first in nine out of the eleven competitions he has participated in over the past four years.
Andres appeared at the Canadian Powerlifting Union’s 2023 Western Canadian Championship yesterday, which was held at Brandon University’s Healthy Living Centre. Andres participated in the Female Masters Unequipped category, and beat out Michelle Kymanick and SuJan Gil for the first place award.
According to advance results obtained by Reduxx, Andres total powerlifting score was over 200lbs more than the top-performing female in the same class – 597.5lbs versus SuJan Gil’s 387.5lbs total. A “total” is the sum of the heaviest weight lifted for the squat, bench press, and deadlift.

Canada is a strange place

Those weights should be in kg not lb, which shows it to be even more unfair.

Another Big Boasting Cheat.

Slightly off piste but we have this whole “ inclusivity” thing where I work. We are lectured to and are told we have to have our preferred pronouns on our name badges and woe betide anybody who raises an objection. I’m actually thinking about changing my job over it. And I’ve been there a while. Luckily I’m financially secure and my skills are needed elsewhere. But it would be difficult, if you had an objection, if you needed the job. It’s a form of intimidation IMHO.

Have you thought about adopting a "noun-self neo pronoun such as bun/but self" ? This is what I intend doing if my wholly captured employers go down this route.
they can't say you're taking the piss as that would be the opposite of inclusive abd then you could get tetchy every time you are incorrectly addressed.
alternatively adopt "he" while still using Miss/Mrs/ms, a female first name abd dressing like a woman. Abd again complain when misgendered

such fun to be had

DaphneDeloresMoreheadRidesOn · 15/08/2023 03:06

Sorry that should have said "bunself" although who's to say buttself wouldn't work just as nicely.
hell, I think I just made a new gender identity. I identify as a big butt. Like Sir Mixalot.

There is another thread about this.
He's making a point and is on our side.

Anne Andres is a trans woman who supports the inclusion of trans women in women’s sport.

Avi Silverberg is a man who entered a different competition as a woman in order to beat a women’s record previously held by Andres and to highlight the issue. Perhaps he will do so again. https://www.foxsports.com.au/more-sports/bearded-man-smashes-womens-weightlighting-record-held-by-trans-lifter/news-story/92986fdec0b7e855b8b6f6271d938e8d

Look at Anne's results. Anne is lifting way more than the 2nd and 3rd placed women every time. If you plotted the results on a graph, Anne would be an outlier with all the other results broadly grouped together. I wonder why?

Judging by interview snippets from other victors in different sports - is it because the contestants in the category didn't train as hard or want the victory as much as a previously 'mid-ranked at best' performer who mysteriously flourished after breaking free of the shackles of a former identity and changing the competitive class?

Of course! The lazy, weak women just didn't want it as much. Perhaps it's their "tiny T-Rex arms" 🙄🙄🙄
