Pride season (previously known as summer)

Does anyone know what's going on this month? I've seen a Council and a few companies change their icons to the new rainbow & trans flag and Pride was back in June wasn't it? The Council in question is in a place where there are no Pride events going on. I wonder if some organisations are trying to out-woke each other by replacing their icons all summer holiday season with the flag, or maybe this is a permanent change now for some of them?

It's so weird that they all have to show this badge of alliance. It's a mistake because as soon as they decide to drop it there will be questions as to why or why they're not doing it all the time.

Holy month is officially June, but yes, it's now a season, soon to be a year. 😖 I'm LGB and can't stand it, it's the constant flap of corporate glittery homophobia.

I asked this question the other day, but my thread was removed - I've been baffled by it, I've got friends fairly far reaching on my Facebook Feed and there's been Pride events in Worthing, Brighton, Manchester, Leeds in the last week or two - It's August!

I hate the way rainbows have been taken over. It used to be a nice stripey colourful thing, on clothing etc. Now I can't wear my rainbow coloured socks without looking like I'm not GC.

Very happy for my gay friends to be acknowledged, but one them hates Pride and says it is performative claptrap.

When isn't it pride month? It seems to go on all year 🙄

Performative claptrap is exactly right.

I wear loads of rainbow stuff. Just avoid anything with baby pink and blue at the same time. Or couple it with a nice GC t shirt.

@PurpleBugz Rose Quartz and the light-blue Serenity were Pantone's colours of the year in 2016 but not for those reasons. It's a very 80s combo colour as well. So many things now are associated with a brand, product or ideology.
