I just came across this Telegraph article from 5th Aug - I couldn’t find a thread about it here so I thought I’d post it:

Train WiFi denies access to 'hateful' gender-critical site
Great Western Railway passengers notified that site's content was 'associated with the terrorism and hate category'

And the site in question? Yes, it's Sex Matters. Couldn't get more hateful than standing up for the rights of (more than) half the UK population.

Terrorism eh? A big shout out to the gender-critical mujahidqueens behind the Sex Matters website. Peace be upon you!

A response from GWR. So this is a filtering company - which company? Will the company apologise.

Hi Maya. We’ve not asked for this, or any specific site, to be blocked on our services. Like millions of public WiFi providers, our on-board WiFi uses a content filtering provider to avoid inappropriate use of our services. This is supplied by a specialist, independent filtering agency, and we have asked them to urgently review the tagging of this site to ensure it has been correctly categorised. I hope this helps.

Blaming the TRA techbros, eh?

Mind you, that's undoubtedly where the fault lies.

Still, he who pays the piper calls the tune, GWR, so get on it.

I wonder if it's a 'no humans involved' assessment. I remember being surprised that a network blocked access to a bread site and then realised that people often posted "bread porn" when they were praising someone's crumb or crust.

Fucking hell that’s outrageous

Yes except it's flagged as terrorism and hate which means it's been categorised not caught up in a search terms filter.
