I find it hard to celebrate the end of something that should neet have happened in the first place. Wtf were they thinking? Not about women that's for sure.

Really? You think he should be "correctively" raped? Seems to me that he's seen a significant amount if damage in his life already.

What about the other male prisoner in Limerick women's prison? Has that person been moved too?

While it is excellent that BK has been moved, I'm not convinced it's much of a win. The move is due to the threat to staff, not the sex of BK. I don't think BK being moved has any implications for other males with a GRC who wish to be housed in a women's prison.

Absolutely horrific, once I read this story I knew an abusive childhood was likely involved and it’s the stuff of nightmares. This child was so badly traumatised and failed. No parent protected them.

I wonder if it was the political pressure or whether the individual in question became too unmanageable in the estate. Either way, good.

Thank god. And I feel sorry for the poor staff who have to deal with him.

It's the beginning of the end, as if any of them are male under some circumstances, then they're all male all of the time and its an admittance that it's a fiction with boundaries.

It's just bloody awful that a female body count is left behind these males in destruction testing how far male desire can be prioritised over prison staff inconvenience women's safety.

Still no guidance from the Irish prison service, the one that they said in like February would be issued in a few weeks.

Shocking he was put in there to begin with but I would be genuinely terrified at the prospect of him getting out. Men like him cannot be changed. He has had a bad life for sure but I do not believe he can be rehabilitated at all.

I hope the staff are planning to sue the prison service for subjecting them to what cannot be a legally compliant work environment.

As far as the Irish law goes BK is a female with a penis.

The prison system should not be providing any type of state funded medical care if that care is funded by "for men legislation".

Plus woman/female specific legislation would apply eg the 2012 FGM legislation is applicable but male body parts (penis etc) were not included
