Father of teenager who murdered and sexually assaulted his sister is convicted rapist

Peter Gibson raped a woman in East Kilbride by tying her up and blindfolding her, before grabbing his victim by the neck and strangling her.

The 62-year-old was convicted of a total of 10 charges earlier this year, with his crimes spanning between June 2001 and February 2008.

They included the indecent assault of a young boy in East Kilbride, as well as further violence to the child by punching and kicking him.

Gibson, formerly of Shropshire, was also found guilty of lewd and libidinous behaviour towards another boy as well as physically assaulting him and threatening the child.

Appearing at the High Court in Glasgow in April, he was jailed for 10 years and was ordered to be supervised for a further three years on his release. Reporting of the case was delayed until the end of his son’s murder trial.

This is horrific too. Amber’s father, a violent rapist convicted of 10 offences against women and children, was sentenced to just 10 years jail after years of predatory assaults. He could be out in half that time. There’s no deterrent effect.

Amber Gibson's brother jailed for life for killing teenager

A man who sexually assaulted and murdered his 16-year-old sister in a park in Hamilton has been jailed for a minimum of 22 years.

Amber Gibson's body was found in Cadzow Glen on 28 November 2021, two days after she was last seen.

Connor Gibson, 21, strangled Amber then got rid of his clothes and called the children's home where Amber was staying to pretend she was still alive.

The judge, Lord Mulholland, described his crimes as truly evil.

Gibson was jailed for life, and must serve at least 22 years before he can apply for parole.

Another man, who was found guilty of interfering with Amber's body, was jailed for nine years.

Well its a small mercy in the midst of every aspect of this young women's life being so indescribably horrible, that the Judge didn't invoke the poor boy he was under 25 so not really responsible.

The caters will have thought they could safely house the brother, if the sister wasn't there. They will have been told that she'll be safer elsewhere.

They'll be devastated that they failed to keep them safe. They'll remember the protective but traumatised little boy he used to be.

That amber suffered at the hands of four separate, violent abusive men in her little life is beyond words.

ie the sister always comes second to the brothers need. He clearly should have been somewhere more institutional, whilst she would have blossomed in a family home. Instead the family home was seconded to migate his issues.

I suspect it was the authorites more than the family who pulled this sexist stunt.

Why would they offer to take on a "problem" when they could manipulate it so someone else had the responsibility.

Dont forget Amber was warned by staff where she was placed not to meet her brother. This clearly shows they were aware of the danger.
