I love this ad!

My DD2 plays for an under 14 girls team. She plays in the league and I’m really proud of her playing football. When I was at school I desperately wanted to play but couldn’t because I was a girl.

There’s a lot of rubbish spoken by misogynists about the women’s game, which is why I love this ad.

Cool advert but I absolutely knew they were women

I guessed it would be women but it is a cool and clever ad.

For me it was something about the way they move/run - the stride and the position of the arms.

Place marking, I watch it tomorrow.

It's brilliant- challenges misogyny in a very clever way.

I don't understand why this advert has got a lot of criticism online. People are saying it is centring men when it's supposed to promote the women's game. I love it and think it is really effective it helping people to get excited about a goal, a play or an attack that is genuinely skilful.

Tim Lovejoy has a lot to answer for, his 'monkey tennis' has sent the women's game back at least 20 years. Prick.

I think it's a great advert. I expected from the comments for it to be more obvious to me that they were women, but it wasn't. And i think the message is a good one. To those who think that men's football is the only exciting football this kind of add may get their attention.

It was the body shapes, fluidity of the game and movement for me. They didn’t change the women’s stature.

It was a good ad. And no, it doesn’t ‘centre’ men’s football.

I showed this to my football loving dh. He said he recognised the french male players, he was't looking at the bodies, he was distracted trying to remember which game this would have been, and then when it switched he laughed and said it was brilliant. It really got his attention.

I saw this a couple of days ago, and think it's brilliant! And of course it doesn't centre men, it's making the point that women's football is just as exciting to watch; and you, the supporter, will enjoy watching the women's game if you just approach it as 'football' and not as 'women's football'. The point is very well made.

Well I WONDERED if they’d all turn out to be women but only because of the OP’s mention of girls playing football. And the action was fast, so it was hard to focus on individual players, but anyway, I got a bit teary-eyed in the second half and bloody loved it!

Will have to watch again for the players’ gaits.

The legs were obviously not men!
