My sister thinks the Russians are behind this

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 17/07/2023 23:47

Gives a whole new meaning to do-it -yourself, really.

meowgender · 17/07/2023 23:52

Can you imagine taking your child to a friend's birthday party and this man is there booked for the entertainment? Tottering around in high heels and fishnets, smashing power tools into his crotch. Completely bizarre how the organisers of the event here think this sex clown is in any way appropriate for an audience of children.

Boiledbeetle · 18/07/2023 00:15

Enough of this shit now.

How in the hell is that children's entertainment

Datun · 18/07/2023 06:04

Crystal insisted to MailOnline that he believes that 'nothing' he did in the performance was sexual.

Plain sight.

LizzieSiddal · 18/07/2023 07:45

Nothing sexual? Apart from the grinding the groin, the tights, g string and shoes. No nothing to see here.

Why are those idiots cheering and clapping that so called “entertainment”?

Musomama1 · 18/07/2023 07:52

I hate this.

It's a kid's theme park, sure they'll be a fair amount of teens and adults there but essentially it's for families.

I can't believe these acts are being booked at such places. There's plenty, in fact tons of actual family Fri entertainment to book.

Musomama1 · 18/07/2023 07:53

*family friendly entertainment

EdithStourton · 18/07/2023 08:01

Grim.
WTF are children learning from stuff like that?

ThatParent2 · 18/07/2023 08:03

It’s comically naff, nevermind being inappropriate. I actually chortled - seriously, messing around on stage after a trip to B&Q and charging hardworking folks money for it? Nice work if you can get it. At least I now know what an angle grinder is.

LizzieSiddal · 18/07/2023 08:04

The fact this children’s park were holding “Pride celebrations” should mean people give it a wide birth.

MadamPickle · 18/07/2023 09:25

I'm a regular visitor to covent garden (as mentioned in the article) and the street performers there don't simulate masturbating with power tools. So he's wrong on that score.

WickedSerious · 18/07/2023 10:56

Who in their right mind would sit through this shite?

Boiledbeetle · 18/07/2023 10:58

Aside from the outfit he's wearing, I can't get over the "look kids you know those tools in the shed we've told you never ever to touch, well watch this man hold one of against his groin for fun. See the pretty sparks "

I mean what could possibly happen once back home?!?

SinnerBoy · 18/07/2023 10:59

I hope his clothes are fire retardant.

Thelnebriati · 18/07/2023 11:06

WTF are children learning from stuff like that?

What I learned from the adults in my childhood was that I couldn't trust them to keep me safe and I'd have to look out for myself. Its a mindset I've never been able to shake off.

SinnerBoy · 18/07/2023 11:12

Quite apart from the inappropriate sexualised "act," it's an HSE risk to the audience. They shouldn't be anywhere near the sparks flying and should all be issued with goggles. Any little girls in Disney Princess dresses should be kept away, as they are classed as toys, not clothes.

My daughter's friend had one and it went up like a bomb, when left near a tea light - thank goodness she wasn't wearing it.

RoseslnTheHospital · 18/07/2023 11:16

It's not much of an act, really, just tottering around whilst wielding the angle grinder. It's very very old hat, I've seen much better versions of this done properly, not in drag, for an adult audience in a nightclub 20 years ago or more. It needs to be dark for the sparks to be impressive.

This is just sad, and inappropriate in the context.

ResisterRex · 18/07/2023 11:32

Don't expect Essex police to do anything about it:

So why angle grind your crotch? What is it if its not sexual?

In which case, I wonder if he could pitch it for broadcast on national telly before 9pm and let us know what happens.

SerafinasGoose · 18/07/2023 13:17

Not even pretending anymore, are they?

It's fine in licensed clubs. So why make a beeline for children? (The question is rhetorical).

WickedSerious · 18/07/2023 13:18

SinnerBoy · 18/07/2023 10:59

I hope his clothes are fire retardant.

I'm not fussed if he isn't.

ArabeIIaScott · 18/07/2023 13:25

I can only guess that like cabababarave, the claim is that although people are stripping, pole dancing, gyrating in a sexualised manner this is done with some kind of irony filter so it doesn't count as sexualised performance to holden, which is what it is.

I wonder what the licensing board will say about that?

ArabeIIaScott · 18/07/2023 13:25

*children, not holden
