I've not yet read the whole thing but will. I thought there would already be a thread but couldn't see one.
I've had a quick read and it seems LGB rights are being attacked here.
The law marks a further rolling back of civil rights in Russia, following the passage of last year's anti-LGBT propaganda laws.s._
Under the legislation, any public expression or portrayal of LGBT culture was outlawed in public spaces. Individuals can be fined up to 400,000 roubles (£5,400) and organisations 5m roubles (£68,500) for "propagandising non-traditional sexual relations".*
It's regressive for LGB people. I agree that surgical procedures should not be carried out on children and on healthy adults either but to criminalise LGB people is wrong.
