They've doubled down on their promotion of puberty blockers by producing a cartoon (aimed at younger children!) with a trans girl protagonist. The whole thing sounds as if it's marinated in sexist stereotypes. Awful. Truly awful. I have no other words at this point 😡

I think we should be letting our 10 year olds vote, drive and have unprotected sex because at 10 they really know their own minds!!!!! Batshit crazy!

That is so bad

This is yet another little boy who had been made to think that liking Barbie, dresses and long hair means he's in the wrong body and that everything will be fine as he can take puberty blockers which just pauses things!

It's so very wrong.

The implication is that Sapphire will "pause" his development and not turn into an adult male. So he will remain an undeveloped pre-pubescent boy all his life? What then? If he can't have cross-sex hormones until over 18, will he remain an undeveloped child until that time???

Do they show this in schools?

The more we have to make life easier and less embarrassing for kids growing and the more knowledge we have to share that what is happening to their bodies is normal. The more efforts to double down and convince kids its traumatic and they can trans out of it there seem to be.

And it’s always about the boys transitioning isn’t it. Never a mention that approx 80% of children experiencing gender distress are female. The reasons for this would open too many cans of worms for our disgrace of a national broadcaster.

The girls tend to start identifying as trans when puberty starts, so most of them are a bit older than this. In young children I think it's still mainly boys (who want to wear dresses, grow their hair and play with dolls, like this child). A 10-year-old girl who wants to wear trousers and climb trees with her brother is still seen as unexceptional (I think). Most girls like this wouldn't think they were boys.

He's designed to look so cute and androgynous. But when he's an older teenager or adult demanding access to women's toilets, changing rooms or dormitories, he might not look so sweet.

I lost faith in our ABC when they ‘fact checked’ the anti-trans labelling of Kellie Jay and upheld that that labelled was valid. Well, to be fair, I lost faith during Kath Deves’ campaign when old Aunty allowed pundits to keep promulgating falsehoods fed to them from ACON and from the Melbourne gender clinicians.

I know only trust it for regional news and shows like landline. Occasionally 4 corners.

The bloody propaganda never ceases. Poor kids being force-fed that emotionally manipulative crap.

That was the tipping point for me too, though I'd been getting steadily angrier each time they did a puff piece about puberty blockers, trans "women" in women's sports or men giving birth.

The ABC is a joke and I hate the fact that our tax dollars fund this propaganda machine.

At least SBS has the occasional panel show which does pull in experiences and experts like that sports panel they did a while ago.
