Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

It really is. The more we can hear from all detransitioners the better. Particularly if it can change the treatment plans to provide significant help in all areas that patients need.

Thanks for posting.

Helleofabore · 04/07/2023 12:55

And it is particularly important to get these detransitioners care for their needs now too. Hearing how some of them have been ignored by clinics is horrific.

MavisMcMinty · 04/07/2023 15:54

How articulate they all are. And how sad some of them look and sound.

Good question from the audience about what could parents have said/done to change the transitionary path they were set on. The tall woman 3rd from left onscreen spoke about boundaries, every child of every age needs boundaries to push back against, and with parental affirmation those boundaries have been removed, and a medical system put in its place.

@Nomorenonbinary do you have a link to the documentary mentioned in the panel discussion?

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 04/07/2023 16:46

I was just about to ask the same thing... would like to see the documentary. It's a little frustrating that they all assume we follow them on Twitter so already know their stories when we don't...

There's a link under the video on YouTube I think.

watched most of it. Brave people to talk so openly about what has been done to them.
I put it like that because even though they themselves thought they wanted it, no-one should do this to another person without a looong period of consideration.

This is particularly interesting because it directly contradicts those who claim that we're bad parents if we don't immediately affirm our children's social transitions.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 05/07/2023 07:33

So sad. And direct proof that the toxic campaign by the trans lobby / queer theorists to remove boundaries from children is working. Boundaries around what is factual, boundaries about what's age appropriate, boundaries about always safeguarding children .. and so on.
It's scary to think of how many tens of thousands? of children are being put on this pathway.

So sad. As the parent of a DD who went through a stage of experiencing what she believed to be gender dysphoria around age 15 I am so glad that we did not affirm/encourage that belief. We were supportive of HER but not encouraging her to believe she was a boy. She was going through mental health issues, self harming, eating disorders etc and the dysphoria was part of that but in no way do I believe that "transitioning" would have helped her in any way. Brave souls, and their story needs to be told.
