Rosie Kay is on a zoom chat tomorrow with the Scottish Union for Education founder Stuart Waiton in case anyone interested. Rosie lost her dance company when she revealed to her dancers that she thought sex was immutable and was subject to a witch hunt. I think it's a really 'interesting' reflection of our time that she is the only artist from the performing sector (that I know?) who has risen above the parapet on sex realism vs. gender ideology. Otherwise artists either genuinely believe it (and I think many do, esp the younger ones who have been trained to believe it) or tow the line to not get in trouble for not 'being kind'. What's more the implications on the wider sector, including what's being put into schools are pretty drastic. Kay is in conversation with Scottish Union for Education founder Stuart Waiton this Thursday night in case anyone interested. I think it's a really important conversations around freedom of speech, and the arts, education and women's rights. Performing artists have been extraordinarily complicit in all the compelled shenanigans in the industry. It is a sad reflection of the health of the arts sector there are so few speaking out, or even recognising the problem. www.eventbrite.co.uk/x/stand-up-for-artistic-freedom-stuart-waiton-in-conversation-with-rosie-kay-tickets-661869297887?aff=eemailordconf&ref=eemailordconf&utm_campaign=order_confirm&utm_medium=email&utm_source=eventbrite&app_cta_src=order_conf_email&utm_term=digitalx Rosie Kay zoom chat Scottish Union for Education
