Honor Oak pub/Drag storytime: another counter protest

Calling fellow SE Londoners. Was given a flyer for a counter protest happening tomorrow (24 June). Apparently Turning Point UK are going to protest at the monthly drag storytime at the Honor Oak pub so local groups are organising a counter protest.

Hyperbolic language:

"far-right bigots" - yes, Turning Point UK are right-wing but far-right? As for bigots, the authoritarian left should examine its own behaviour.

Coming to "intimidate and spread pernicious lies" - how are they intimidating if there are so few of them? And what lies?

Tempted to go along to support the right of people to voice their opposition to drag story time. Fed up with the Left slurring anyone who doesn't agree with them as being right wing. No, some people just have different opinions to you.

It looks so bad. Why would anyone take their dc through that for a story?

I was referring to the parents who actually brought their children inside that pub with so much violence likely to happen. Like wtf..

Who takes children to an adult-themed event in a pub???

It's a Saturday morning event specifically for children and not 'adult-themed'. A man in drag reading stories to kids and their parents.

I doubt it went ahead on Saturday - the counter protesters were located in front of the door for much of the time. And were making extremely loud noise.

Imagine.. "Get up kids we're bringing you down the pub this morning so you can see a man all dressed up in women's clothes & make up. He's even going to read a story yadown da pub"

If you're really asking yourself "are turning point bigots?" then you might as well go join the Klan and get it over and done with.

I just can't fathom any parent bringing their child to a pub at 10 am to see a drag queen. Why? How could that possibly positively enrich a child's life?

Alcoholic parents provide others easier access to their children.

And not just ‘guilt by association’ and rumours and pundits declaring their objectives are similar to ‘x’, bobby, I mean actual recorded information to substantiate the accusations.

They are clear about their political values of a lighter government that regulates less and more personal responsibility for the individual. That doesn’t make them bigots.

What specific objectives or initiatives make them ‘bigots’?

@Letsplay78 I think parents bringing little children to a pub at 10am is much more concerning yet the parents advocating for safeguarding & child protection are the bigots.. I think they proved their point exactly, who exactly brings their dc to a boozer at 10am?
