What are egregious, ridiculous, or just plain baffling examples have you encountered?

This was for a hearing test. I'd love to know the possible effects on the auditory system of identifying as non-binary.

I applied for a DBS a year ago, they only asked for my gender, not my birth sex.
Or maybe it was advanced security vetting for my job actually - how tf are they supposed to accurately risk assess me if they don't even know if I'm male or female? Mind boggles.

They demanded all sorts of info about my family (if I had one) but practically nothing to help them work out if I was someone who transitioned and changed my name

It drives me absolutely crazy.

I take every opportunity, when dealing with forms, to cross out gender and write in sex, though this is only really possible with paper forms.

I've posted on here before about the 'all gender team members clean these facilities' sign on the door of the loos of the railway station I use. I'm so tempted to take a Sharpie and make some corrections.

The “gender pay gap” gets a regular run out - but I’ve never come across a transman who was offered the appropriate pay increase, or vice versa. There may, in fact, be a gender pay gap (guessing the numbers are too small to validate that statistically) but I think the sex-based pay gap is the significant one

I had a pleasant surprise at the dentist today, I was asked to fill out new medical forms for ds and I and they asked for our sex no mention of gender whereas before they had 6 different gender choices. Apparently enough of us were ignoring the gender question and writing in a sex box that they have ditched it 🤣

Oooh well done. I either cross out gender and write in sex, or cross out 'male' and 'female' and write in 'agender'. Which I particularly enjoy doing if they really want to know my sex.

I'm fairly sure there's an army of quite pissed off middle aged women up and down the country doing the same.
