I honestly think Bud Light has done a Ratners on themselves.
Gerald Ratner for buying his "complete crap". The Bud Light marketing exec disparaged Bud's customers for their "fratty out of touch humour" (yes I know she was talking about the brand's image but she'd just waffled on about representation, so equating customers to the brand). At this point, Mulvaney became irrelevant, Bud's customers had just been told they were the wrong type of customer so they chose to become no type of customer at all.
It's a self-inflicted wound.
