I have just stickered the Pride poster in my town - see photo! I also put a few on Oxfam's window, but didn't have a chance to take a picture.
Am on a bit of a high😆

I stickered my local Oxfam too OP. I bet they’ve had to remove hundreds of them over the last couple of weeks. I’ve ordered some of those A4 ahf stickers too. Can’t wait to sticker that to Oxfam’s window.

I'm sorry, are you saying that defacing Pride flags, the symbol of the gay community, is helpful for the gay community?

There is no gay community.

Signalbox · 19/06/2023 21:20

There is no gay community.

😂 You have no eyes in your head if you can not see the gay community around you.

But perhaps you would rather bury your head in the sand.

You don’t speak for any of the gay people I know. Give up. If bleating “homophobe” was going to stop people disagreeing with genderism don’t you think it would have worked by now? Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of stupidity.

Can you explain how defacing Pride flags is helpful to young gay people who are struggling with their sexuality and who view them as symbols of who they are and the support and well-wishes their communities have for them?

I think it’s probably you that gas a very narrow view of the world. There may well be gay communities (plural). But from my experience gay people are no more likely to agree with each other on contentious issues than anyone else. It’s like saying “the woman community” or “the poc community”.

this is either disingenuous or so ignorant as to be unworthy of consideration. It is well known that the pride umbrella has extended beyond the gay community to include the very different claims of the genderists and it is precisely this to which the OP (and many gay people) object. If you are genuinely unaware of this expansion you need to educate yourself. If you are aware of it, stop being a bore.

Thank you! That's what Chippenham is called locally 😆😆😆

I didn't know that, we call it Chips and ham.

AgathaSpencerGregson · 19/06/2023 21:38

Oh and if you genuinely cared about young gay people, you would support attempts to decouple their interests from those of the genderist cult. But I suspect you don’t and are attempting to use them to close down debate. As has already been pointed out, that hasn’t worked to date; but you people do seem to enjoy banging your heads against brick walls, don’t you?

Signalbox · 19/06/2023 21:38

Anyway putting up AHF stickers is highlighting the absurdity of trans ideology not having a pop at gay people.

Well, as a community we are very well aware of the 'divide and conquer' tactics being employed to try to alienate us from each other and split us into ever smaller subdivisions, yes.

That might be a question directed to the T community who have hijacked LGB.

Honestly, the arrogance of assuming you speak for all gay people.

Sub divisions? What, like the extensive run of letters that are hoovering up ever tinier niche kinks as they go? Those sub (literally, and dom) divisions?

Mmm.

I think what many people here fail to realise is that, although sexuality and gender identity may be conceptually distinct, the reality of lived experiences can be a lot more blurred and complicated than that.

There are plenty of young (and older) people struggling with these issues, trying to navigate the right pathway for them. There is an affinity and shared experiences amongst LGBTQ population and, as studies repeatedly demonstrate, high levels of support for trans people from gay people.

When people deface Pride flags that is experienced as an attack on the whole community.

Despite the social movements that have taken place over the last twenty years, I can't believe that that being LGB is a walk in the park. I don't believe that being employed as deflection amour by the T community makes their life easier.

I think what you have failed to realise is there is no receptive audience for your attempts at emotional blackmail here. The people doing the harm here are those who, like you, insist on conflating two very different sets of claims.

yes, with the pride flag as the sacred relic, and non-believers required to genuflect.

Would that be the gay teenagers struggling with their sexuality and how to come out to their families in a world that appears increasingly hostile towards then?

The UK has never been more accepting of gay people and their rights. Unfortunately, Stonewall and its ilk seek to erase same-sex attraction by replacing it with nonsensical "same-gender" attraction and rebranding straight men as lesbians. It's the most homophobic shit for decades - and I'm old enough to remember the bad old days.
