I have a narrated epic poem permanently on my tabs on my tablet. The song of Roland. It's bloody fantastic, but having gone through it line by line now more times in print whilst checking the recording for mistakes more times than anyone ever should...

How big is sturgeon's advance? How many copies do they honestly think they'll sell? Tony Blair sold 350,000, John major 91,000, David Cameron 64,000 and Gordon Brown 28,000.

Do they honestly think there will be similar interest in sturgeon's book in two years time when at best she's all just a bit past tense or at worse, even more tainted after a shedloqd more negative stories (or even court cases) have come out?

Who honestly thinks she'll ever actually complete the book and get it published without access to the govt credit card?

It'll just be yet another failure to add to her long list.

Hopefully she stocked up on notebooks and nice pens before handing the credit card back!

I think people might be very interested to read a biography of Sturgeon, but one that's an exercise in self aggrandisement without honesty is not going to sell.

I'm just looking forward to the reviews.

I too wondered how many copies they expect to sell.

Scotland doesn't have a huge population, only a percentage of them will want the book. I cant imagine many people not in Scotland will want a copy.
So my best guess is 9000 copies sold.

And as you say, if more comes out, if she ends up in prison, if her husband ends up in prison, if lavender times do indeed happen. I cant see more people wanting copies.

Soooo will we ever find out how much the advance is?

Based on this thepublishingcalculator.com and a £100,000 advance, she'd need to sell 35,000 hard copies or 78,000 paperbacks to earn back the advance.

Just don't think that is plausible at all.
