I'm posting because I dont think anyone started a thread for the Vienna event. And I cant find a twitter feed. Some posts here #LetWomenSpeakVienna

But did see that it seems the Geneva police dont want the event tomorrow to go ahead. https://twitter.com/StandingforXX/status/1667605859830988805

Anyone with more information?

Or if the event will be live on twitter?

YouTube did not remind me for Vienna :(

IwantToRetire · 11/06/2023 00:53

As far as I know KJK is still banned from YouTube. I tried to make a complaint but never heard back.

So doubt there will be anything on YouTube, that's why I asked about twitter.

It might be worth checking this tomorrow https://twitter.com/hashtag/LetWomenSpeakGeneva but I am not one of the twitterati so may have got this wrong.

Vienna livestream. Some excellent speeches and the police appear to have done a very good job.

Thanks for the YouTube link.

Hopefully that means worth tuning it to the let women speak channel tomorrow at midday.

And well done to whoever got YouTube to undo their ban

Isn't there some phrase, something along the lines of "I never lose"???!!

Looks like the initial peace has broken, they've had to close early. Looks very frightening. https://twitter.com/RoisinMichaux/status/1667867174902325248?t=ZXJ73l2hjmLWsn0aWo3HYQ&s=19

Will tweet the insane videos and story later. Right now we are trying to escape the mob. KJK had to be rushed into a waiting van and sped off. They are all around us now #LetWomenSpeakGeneva

Just bumping this - I'm so angry.

IwantToRetire · 11/06/2023 18:21

On no - for various reasons I wasn't able to tune in and was going to catch up.

So sorry that this has happened.

Hope every one is safe.

The woman in a shaky voice trying to talk and the hedge fund babies are screaming over her #LetWomenSpeakGeneva

Was in Vienna. Fairly new to this & keen to hear the speakers' views. No such issues as in Geneva (at least before I left), but exceptionally heavy police presence, impressively alert & proactive. A peaceful trans rights demo near enough to have some good background music, far away enough to hear the LWS speakers! But, as one speaker said, appalled by need for such extreme police protection in Europe for anyone speaking up for their rights, let alone women! Anyway, would recommend listening to the speeches. Perhaps 2 in 3 were in English (continentals put Brits to shame!), & one intensely powerful speaker maybe 3/4 of the way through. Personally, find KJK's rhetoric provocative & sometimes problematic - but also fully understand why she's driven to it & admire what she's doing. Without her, yesterday's voices wouldn't have been heard. An interesting experience, & keen to find out more - if anyone else is in the area, Hi & may be interested in messaging?

Where i part company with KJK is when she says to the handmaidens that when they realise what they've done, we women will still be there for them.
Well, sorry not sorry, not me. I hope they are ostracised and end up being very lonely in life. Not very nice of me perhaps but i just can't spare time of day, or sympathy for them.

ArabeIIaScott · 11/06/2023 21:44

Oh, god, just saw this. Hope everyone is okay. It's horrible to reveal how easily some people are willing to slip into violent actions.

Geneva was a scary place when the religious zealot John Calvin was in charge. He had his own Inquisition called the Geneva Consistory which tried people for heresy and sexual immorality. It was a total dictatorship.

These intolerant little fascists are worthy heirs of Calvin in his home town.

You're right. It's not very nice of you. Nor is your post very helpful.

Yawn. Everyone who disagrees with me is a fascist.

Abhannmor · 12/06/2023 21:08

People are perfectly free to disagree with me of course. That's what distinguishes most of us from the latter day Calvinist fanatics. We don't seek to destroy or disenfranchise our opponents.

Helpful to whom? Epic’s comment was honest and perfectly justifiable. Not violent or threatening like the TRAs, but refusing to meekly forgive aggression and abuse. Anger can be powerful.

Here is an account of both Vienna and Geneva.

Strange as I had somehow thought the Vienna event would be more fraught and the Geneva one quite laid back. How wrong I was. Sounds really for those who tried to speak.
