Childline Pushes Gender Surgeries

It's kind of long but I really recommend giving this a watch.

Between 0 moderation on their children's forum, encouraging distancing from family in the form of "setting boundaries", and pushing surgeries this is worrying.

I used services like this at times when I was younger, and the fact that this stuff is now just part and parcel of them rather than MH or abuse/troubled homes is scary to me when kids going to these sites to begin with are already struggling.

I didn't watch but can you summerise? Why would childline of all places want to push this major, life changing surgeries for children? What's driving it?

It mainly talks about their message boards, which are supposedly moderated but don't appear to be in practice. Where there are TRAs advising young people to take cross sex hormones and telling them where to buy binders, for instance. No one is saying anything about finding puberty difficult being a normal thing, which doesn't mean you need to change your body. And Childline itself has issued guidance about the need to distance yourself / set boundaries if parents don't accept your new identity. Which then puts children at higher risk of grooming.
