I always remember the publicity photo of him, a tabletop of period products, and a mum and daughter being schooled by him.

The gormless mother had a brain dead smile on her face, but the teenage daughter's face was a picture, equal part rabbit caught in headlights, teen diffidence, and "get me the fuck out of here" risk alert adrenaline rushing.

Actually, the thread title had me expecting something else! There are worse things that never happen in the media.

This sort of rubbish makes me incandescent with rage. So this person transitioned five minutes ago and is not only teaching the WI leadership team all about how to be a woman (because how could they possibly know without a TW’s guidance) they have also been appointed into a senior role - presumably over the heads of women who have actually been WI members (and women) for much longer. (See also Dylan Mulvaney and invitations to the White House, sponsorship deals etc.)

If the WI wishes to be more visibly inclusive they should be championing disabled women, black, Asian and Jewish women, lesbians and bisexual women, young and old women, those of different faiths and none. Not this utter nonsense.

I honestly don't understand what's going on. The WI, Girl Guiding... from what I can gather the vast, VAST majority of women are not ok with males joining these groups for all sorts of valid and justified reasons. Yet it's happening. Why??

And it's worth excluding vulnerable women from a women's resource in order to pander naicely to a man.

Just fuck everything at the moment. There is not one women's institution or group or resource (except the one JKR personally funded, and is defending) left to women. Largely because a lot of very stupid women love to handmaiden.

I suspect a lot of women at senior level in these organisations have trans tweens which is why they are so gung ho. I’ll be amazed if this isn’t the case for women on WI trustee board or SMT

Fuck my post was deleted very quickly, It seems that I am not allowed to write things even though Ithe facts I wrote about I read in an interview in WI Life! And from what I read , it reads classic AGP .

if you look at it there are several pages on gender and trans but not so much on race , religion, age , lesbian and bisexual women. Less on disability than there is on gender. Mermaids and Gendered Intelligence are cited as organisations to go to seek help . Mermaids is in the news of course , Gendered intelligence promote trans in young people and sell chest binders on their website.

The policy to allow trans women to join has been in place since the 70s. There are 180,000 members, and Wenham was democratically elected by those members. 700 members signed a petition to ban trans women - this is a tiny handful, and to call the Women's Institute "handmaidens" is patronising and laughably tone-deaf.
