School board support

Has anyone managed to gain any support from their school board / affect change to the curriculum re: gender?

It would be really helpful to know what worked well.

I'm just wondering if you're in the US? I'm not familiar with the term 'school board' over here?

I do feel the philosophical intricacies of ideas about gender get translated into a blunt instrument in the classroom.
