LGBT Foundation's "What is a woman?" guide

From their "guide":

"A woman is someone who identifies as a woman. Many women are cisgender (often written as cis), and this means the gender they were assigned at birth matches their gender identity. Some women are transgender (often written as trans), and this means that the gender they were assigned at birth didn't match their gender identity.
Cis women and trans women are women – it’s as simple as that."

Circular meaningless nonsense. A woman is someone who identifies as a woman.... what is a woman, someone who identifies as a woman... yes, but what is this thing "woman" that they identify as....well, is is someone who identifies as a woman... and on and on and on and on into an endless spiral, void of meaning and use.

I saw this earlier today, it was being soundly mocked. Have they deleted the tweet?

Hepwo · 23/05/2023 23:07

They have used a picture of a man though. How does that help?

Pixiedust1234 · 23/05/2023 23:09

blinks

They really have no shame.

If only this helpful and enlightening guide had been available hundreds of millennia ago when Homo Sapiens appeared, perhaps the mass extinction of human beings could have been avoided.

The wonderful Mole at the Counter on twitter has expanded this oh so helpful advice for those struggling with knowing who they are:

My gender wasn't assigned at birth. In fact, that has never happened to anyone.

However, my sex was recorded - the same as for most people in the world.

To form a Foundation, I'd choose a cause I understand the foundations of...

Thank you for the link. This had my DH and I in stitches. The pantomime horse!! Egads.

nepeta · 24/05/2023 06:08

You could do that about anything. A cauliflower is any plant you identify as cauliflower. Cis cauliflowers were assigned that name as seeds, trans cauliflowers were assigned that name later by me. They are all cauliflowers!

Hagosaurus · 24/05/2023 06:18

Still no mention of women who don’t identify as women then……

Kinsters · 24/05/2023 06:25

This whole thing is just so utterly insane I don't even know where to begin! That person is very clearly a man.

YouJustDoYou · 24/05/2023 06:32

"What is a woman?"
"Anyone who identifies as a woman".
"Yeah, but what is that?"
"A woman!"
"Yes, but what IS a woman!"
"Anyone who identifies as one!"
"But what is a woman!"
"A woman!"
"You're not answering the question"
"BIGOT!"

Pudmyboy · 24/05/2023 06:41

Loved the 'panto horse are horses' and 'clothes horse are horses'! 😂
(Actually illustrated the absurdity perfectly)
