Sir Ed said: "The truth is, Mary, the vast majority of people whose biological sex is a woman when they were birthed - they feel they're women. "They feel they're gendered the same as at birth but there is a very small number of people who don't feel like that, and the law has recognised them for over 20 years now."
He added: "There's a small number of people who, actually, they have a tough time. They're harassed, they're discriminated against; real, serious mental health issues, and I think we need to debate this...with a bit more maturity and a bit more compassion."
Pressed further by LBC's Nick Ferrari on whether women can in fact have a penis, Sir Ed responded: "Quite clearly."

The Lib Dems really are the worst, and most captured, on this issue.

Not surprising really seeing who their biggest donor is.

Why is that? Who is their biggest donor?

Ferring pharmaceutical, they make and market puberty blockers.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 24/05/2023 12:41

It speaks to their integrity and moral values. Happy to voice an evidenced lie because you're in hock to a powerful political lobby and in receipt of funds from big pharma (Lib Dems).
With the casualties being women's safety and children's physical and mental wellbeing about which they are completely disinterested.

Political parties do really extensive research on messaging and policy, actually I think this issue is low down on most voters lists and a lot of those voters will be on board with TWAW message anyway. Drill down into the detail of what this means and the consequences, and I expect most voters would change their mind and say TWANW. Even then, I very much doubt it would be on most voters top five most important issues.

Until it is. Like in Scotland.

Labour and the LibDems just hope not to be asked..

But the developments over the last decade were, let us not forget, brought in under the Tories.

Lab & LivDems get more trouble because the public challenges are more likely to come from inside their tent.

Correct, but the current Tory administration has rolled back on this.

Labour and the Lib Dem's have not and if they had been in power self id would be a done deal by now.

Regardless of who created the mess I'm interested in whose going to clean it up.

I read Ed Daveys interview with the guardian

Interview

I’m surprised the cognitive dissonance when he talks about his family’s health history and most especially his youngest son doesn’t make his head explode

If that wasn't an ad for a Lib Lab coalition, I don't know what is.

Note use of the term 'gender equality'

EdithStourton · 24/05/2023 15:28

Well, that'll be another spoilt ballot paper.
'Dear Ed,
WOMEN DO NOT HAVE WILLIES.
Yours,
A lost vote.'

Florissante · 24/05/2023 15:44

That Guardian article was vomit-inducing.

Exactly.

They all fell for it. More or less everyone fell for it.

It's who is doing something about it now, instead of sounding like a complete twerp on national tv and embracing womanhood as the new frontier for men.

Spoiling papers as opposed to voting actively for the survival of women's rights will just mean when women lose equality and rights in the UK, some women will shrug and say their hands aren't personally dirty. The politicians will not care. If you let a Labour or Libdem PM into your area they will say, even if it's a 2% turn out, that self ID is what everyone wanted and voted for.

We've got one shot at retaining rights for another five years. One shot. Once they're gone, we're fucked.

notprincehamlet · 24/05/2023 17:22

I can see all testicles in my way
That line is now forever edited in my mind!

Yes you are right about this, and about what you say about voting actively.

Email sent as follows

Dear Sir and the rest of your party.
After your comment that clearly women can have a penis, it is clear to me, and many women like me, that your party is not fit to make any decisions about running a country. You are clearly unable to understand how important the safety and protection of 51% of the population ( based of course on the factual biological knowledge that they are female, which is a reality, not a feeling, identification or social construct) actually is. In healthcare, education, prisons, sport and anywhere else Females require consideration of their needs, and for these not to come second place to any individual or groups wants. The rights of women must not be devalued.
Inclusion of any group must never come at the exclusion of another, particularly when the lived reality of a majority is being ignored for the wants of a vocal minority who are choosing to believe in a reality that many do not share.
If your party cannot adjust its viewpoint, there is very little chance of them receiving sufficient votes to have any kind of voice in the government of this country.

Good letter. I wish they'd listen.

Are the Lib Dems giving out penises? Are they free? Do we gave to go and collect them? I'd quite like some for 'edgy' ornaments.

Upcycling project, maybe? Pejazzle?

Any man who thinks that women have penises needs to stop watching T porn.

waterbabys · 24/05/2023 20:45

Well I'll never vote libdem, snp, labour or green again. Where do I go????? Politically homeless

MmePoppySeedDefage · 25/05/2023 06:46

I see he's MP for Kingston and Surbiton. Is there a ReSisters group there that need extra support to man a stall or two now, and knock on doors in the next election? We can't let him get away with this.

Starmer the same too, of course.

Srin · 26/05/2023 19:58

If Ed was sent a 1000 dick pics, would he be able to pick out the women?

IcakethereforeIam · 21/08/2023 14:49

LibDems still beclowning themselves.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12428741/Menstruation-not-just-womens-issue-Lib-Dem-trans-rights.html

Every single person who menstruates in a woman, or a female child. TM are women and nonbinary, well some of those will also be women and self obsessed idiots. Although all asylum seekers who menstruate are women, apparently.

'Menstruation is not just a women's issue' say Lib Dem activists

Members at the event in Bournemouth next month will be asked to agree that periods 'also affect some trans and non-binary people'.

I had a penis a few years ago. I got it from the butcher, my dog adored it. Our local pet shop sells loads of them as well. If anyone fancies their own penis I'm happy to go shopping for them!
