I like the way he's been circled,in case we couldn't spot the bloke.

Pervs gonna perv. Luckily for him he found his Pervs Rainbow Invisibility Cloak, or PRIC, if you will, so no one could spot that's what he was there for all along...

ammpersand · 16/05/2023 13:14

Well, if true, this person's behaviour would also be unacceptable from a woman in the house.

That was my very first thought too.

Maybe they were impersonating one of those "Only a genius can find the gorilla in under 90 seconds stories."

RealityFan · 16/05/2023 13:15

Thank GOD for red marker pen. I'd never have guessed.

What were the members of the sorority thinking when they voted to admit a male student?!?! Were they being naively woke and just didn’t think through the implications? ie “gold star for KKG sorority for being so accepting as to admit a man” but it didn’t cross their minds he might want to do as all sorority members have a right to do and actually live in the house?

Inamuddle36 · 16/05/2023 13:51

By the way, Meghan Markle was a member of the same sorority (at a different university, but it is a national organisation) so perhaps someone will contact her to ask for a statement.

They were being pressured,.and the voting was not anonymous.

MouseMinge · 16/05/2023 13:53

They were pressured into doing it and the way of voting was changed. I think there were threats that if they refused him they would be transphobic and might lose their place in the sorority.

It's an absolute shit show.

Inamuddle36 · 16/05/2023 13:56

He might have been “eligible” but the members did not have to vote to admit him. According to the article, they didn’t want to appear to be anti-trans so yielded to pressure. Good lesson for them to learn.

RealityFan · 16/05/2023 14:03

I just love it how the whole Animal House ethos was effectively rightly de-legitimised over a few decades, now re-introduced in the last few years, and lauded by polite society.

RufustheSpecuIatingreindeer · 16/05/2023 14:04

Those women are very brave speaking out

i mean its a shame i even have to say that…but they are very brave

The people who fixed the election by making it impossible for members to vote against weren’t the people who were going to have to live with him.

lechiffre55 · 16/05/2023 14:25

It's much easier to be progressive when it's someone else's rights and safety you are giving away for virtue points.

DarkDayforMN · 16/05/2023 14:25

He might have been “eligible” but the members did not have to vote to admit him.

They kind of did, if you listen to them tell their stories. Older members of the sorority were knocking on people's doors to make sure that they'd voted and telling anyone who might consider voting against him that their values weren't compatible with the sorority's and they should leave - a message passed down from the national head office of the sorority. The vote wasn't anonymous - a special exceptional procedure for this guy, as the process is normally anonymous. They also seemed to have waived the grade requirement as a special exceptional procedure for the male "sorority sister."

I'm actually amazed the sorority couldn't find a more photogenic/appealing test case. Or one who at least met the grade requirements. Or at the very least, one who could keep his hands off his dick. This guy is such an obvious example of someone who shouldn't be there. Or is this what you select for, when you select for men who want to invade women's spaces against their will?

clearly The young women were put under unreasonable pressure and the rules set for this male applicant were inconsistent with the normal sorority selection rules. However, the women could have shown spine and voted against him — albeit not anonymously. Hence, as I said, I hope they will have learned a valuable lesson about the importance of speaking up at the time an injustice is committed, rather than just meekly go along and hope for the best.

Beamur · 16/05/2023 14:53

As ever, the consequences of shitty decision making is felt by people who didn't make the decision.
I'm sorry for the young women who have been made to feel violated and uncomfortable. Not sorry for the squirming and back pedalling/doubling down that those higher up are doing now.

RealityFan · 16/05/2023 15:01

I'm wondering if the society who barged this policy thru broke open a case of Bud Light to toast such a marvellous moment for human rights, whilst prancing about, falling backwards in their Nike Bras, laughing and joking as they dabbed on their Maybelline after?

Lavenderandbrown · 16/05/2023 15:25

This young person could not get near a Kappa house or a Kappa woman on any campus as a man because they would be seen as overweight and unattractive and will
be unable attract any of those girls….so they have created a new identity allowing them direct access to a world they most certainly would be excluded from. Kappa house is absolutely dependent on fees so if every parent of every kappa refuses to pay their fees (which on some campus are $$$k) the house will fold. Panhellenic council will not pay for the house. A nick name for the house is visa visa Mastercard because it’s stereotyped as a sorority of daughters of wealthy and influential families and those families pay the dues.

Datun · 16/05/2023 15:34

It continued: 'Langford repeatedly questioned the women about what vaginas look like, breast cup size, whether women were considering breast reductions and birth control'.
He was reportedly supposed to leave the party by 10pm but stayed until midnight and returned the next morning where he reportedly stood in the corner watching the girls change out of their pajamas.

Leadership reportedly told members that if they have any issues with Langford then they can 'drop out'.
One member even said that she was called a 'bigot and a transphobe' for not wanting to shower and sleep with Langford in the same area.
They told the National Review: 'It's an awful situation to be in. It's scary, not knowing if I'm going to transfer out of the school next semester.'

This is why Trump will get in.

Delphinium20 · 16/05/2023 15:39

My fear exactly. Democrats need to get their heads out of their asses or we are looking at a future Casino-Gilhead-Wild West.

If I was quietly gender critical and wanted to peak a woke university, this is probably how I would go about it.
