Australian Liberals are actually conservatives. They have often formed a coalition with the National Party (which is even more conservative). Labour used to be the left party, but has inched right over the decades since the heyday of Gough Whitlam. We have Greens, and also Democrats, the latter who were meant to be centrist. Plus a plethora of independents

It was very concerning that she has been expelled. She has been fighting to clear her name. I hope she does now go to court for defamation.

Pesutto is known to have a very slim majority for leadership. He just significantly ‘widened’ that gap by expelling Moira because she supported his opponent.

Yes, Libs are ‘conservative’ but they are rather centrist. The National party is not, but is a partner of necessity. The Labor Party nationally is not radically different. Well, Albanese isn’t, he was my MP for a while. The Victorian Labor Party who is in power in Victoria is much more ‘left’ and seem to be very entrenched in adopting stonewall like policies as law.

So, here is hoping that Moira can follow through. Otherwise, the wind will change and a new leader may bring her back. The MPs who voted her out are numpties and are punishing the wrong person. It was Pesutto who never once checked his staff’s report that didn’t go past Wikipedia. He is a lawyer himself. He should have known better.

As far as I could understand, yes. She was expelled for threatening to take the leader to court for defamation and demanding he fulfill his promise that he says he didn’t make.

And for supposedly having affiliations with Kellie Jay who miraculously is aligned with the neo Nazi party.

It is unclear, and it seems that it might remain unclear and secret liberal business.

Nothing like transparency in politics to inspire confidence, eh?
