Did anyone see this? I admit I didn't. I didn't know it was on and probably wouldn't have watched it anyway. For the people who did see it, was it any good, fair, balanced. I'm concerned there seemed to be a piece including a very young child and that the programme info. includes a link to GenderGP.

Wings Over Scotland has a review, and has sent a complaint to Ofcom:

Any adult who thinks a 2 year old child is "trans" needs a serious talking to. It's no surprise that at 6 years old this child is confidently asserting that they "know" they are a boy, because that's what they've been told for as long as they can remember. Why have the parents sold this child a lie like this?

BonfireLady · 12/05/2023 17:07

I've not seen the programme but the article on that link is a very irresponsible piece of journalism. Not at all balanced.

There are many examples of lack of balance but to take just one: to celebrate a trans child, without even pointing out the medicalised pathway and the associated complications that this could lead to, is appalling.

IcakethereforeIam · 12/05/2023 17:27

Is it a one off documentary or a series?

18 months? Children don't even have a concept of gender at that age. That poor girl.

Overview - Fabricated or induced illness

Find out about fabricated or induced illness (FII), which is a rare form of child abuse where a parent or carer exaggerates or deliberately causes symptoms of illness in the child.

When Stormy's parents were asked what if Stormy said she was a girl after all, Dad said no problem, Mum said they'd have to go shopping fir new clothes....
Nothing to do with stereotypes in any way at all.
